“shinhye!” “omma” shinhye hugged her mother tightly. It is the first time she hugged her after 15 years. They do

communicate with each other but still seeing her mom in person brought back all the memories she wanted to erase

Yunho sheepishly smiled watching the two have their moments. Yunho always go to her in france whenever he got a

chance. He is welcome to her relatives, but her mom, she is aware that they didn’t like her at all. “omma, I have

lots of things for you,” she said wiping her tears dry. There she is crying when she told herself earlier that she will

“I’m so glad that you finally decided to go home shine!” yunho kissed shinhye’s forehead. She smiled while she

closed her eyes. “it is nice to be back” she whispered. “don’t think about what had happen in the past, it’s all long

gone now. It will never gonna happen. In anyway, you going to France is a good thing, your dad’s relatives are still on

our side though they didn’t like omma” yunho said. shinhye nod. “so, ready to visit the boutique tomorrow?” yunho

asked. “deh, I guess I have to see what did you do to our little business.” Shinhye smiled warmly. “good night little

sister” yunho kissed her cheek. “good night oppa, could check on mom, I mean omma again” because of her stay in

France she is used on calling her mother “mom”. “okay shine, well, I guess I have to change that name of yours too.

Shine is a secretive person here in Seoul” yunho by whispering it covering his side as if someone is there

eavesdropping. Shinhye shook her head and giggled while pinching his side. “oppa, you really are funny… not!” they

both laughed. “okay, you need to rest. I’ll see you in the morning. Thank you for coming home. I can see that omma

is happier that you are here now” yunho said and walk towards his room. shinhye sighed. “this is really my home”

Shinhye walk towards the study table situated near the huge window. Nothing is changed in their old house, rather,

yunho’s father’s house. The grass field outside her window is still green and inviting. The few wild flowers that

bloomed in May are still there, she missed this place. She is thankful to yunho’s dad, he accepted her though she is a

mistake her mother didn’t wanted to happen. Her father is her mother’s first love, as her mother told her. Park Moon

Shik. A businessman, good looking, arrogant, and ambitious man. “ambitious?” she scoff. If there is one thing she got

from him that she is proud of, that would be it. she strive to get her ambition and she got it. irony is that, in order

to pay gratitude to her stepfather, she wanted to be anonymous in her fame. Her mother accidentally met her father

again after a long time, Yoon Yemi, her mother is already married to Jung Sun gun, a wealthy Hotel Owner. Yunho’s

father was older that her mom of 10 years. Many have speculated that her mom, only married Mr. Jung because of

money, well her mother didn’t lie about that. her grandfather, had a huge debt with Mr. Jung so he asked for her

mother’s hand in marriage as a payment. On the contrary, Mr. Jung is a very kind hearted man, it is not hard not to

love him, her mother told her.

But fate made some difficulties with her mom and Mr. Jung’s quiet life. Her mother met her father again in a business

function. They had a little “secret affair”. Yoon yemi didn’t want to cheat on her husband but she cant fight the

feelings that still linger on. But when the unexpected happened her father left her mom to face the problem by

herself. she happened. Mr. Jung told her mother that she can use his name but her mother refused, it will be a huge

disgrace on his name, his reputation. To make it worse, her mother  decided to name her after her father. Park

Shinhye. She despise the surname but she can’t change it. her mother said that she is made by love not by mistake.

“Love?” she scoff, she almost believed in that. but then when she reached adolescence, 12 years old. That was the

first time she will meet her real father. Her “dad” Mr. Jung is hesitant. Shinhye was so in love with her stepfather. A

tear fell from her eyes reminiscing the time she spend with Mr. Jung.

“dal! Come on, I have something for you” a 7 year old shinhye run towards her stepfather. Her mother didn’t hide

the fact that she is not Mr. Jung’s real daughter, yet that didn’t lessen the love and affection her stepfather have

given to her. “what it is appa?” shinhye asked eyes twinkle in excitement. Mr. Jung laughed his contagious laugh.

“aigoo, my daughter is so excited. Here” shinhye gasped and look up to her “father” “appa!” she hugged him

tightly. Mr. Jung laughed again. yunho and yemi who is looking at them cant help but to laugh too. “so what name

are you going to give him?” shinhye took the cute puppy from Mr. Jung and hugged it too. “sunhye” she uttered

smiling brightly. “sunhye?” her appa asked. She nod. “sun is from your name appa, and hye from mine. In that we

will be always be together, so everytime I’ll call him, It will remind me that you gave him to me, my appa gave it

to me” she said. at the very young age, she learn to appreciate the kindness and unconditional love given to her

by a man who accepted her and her mother.

The rain fell from the sky, shinhye then remembered the time she met her real father, it was when Mr. Jung died.

Her heart is crushed. The father she loved is now gone. They are in the graveyard when a guy approached them.

“what are you doing here?” shinhye and yunho look up right there she knew who it is. Park Moon Shik. “I’m here to

take my daughter” he said firmly. “no you cant, you see that,?” her mother pointed where Mr. Jung lay. “that’s her

father for 12 years” her mother broke down. At the end, shinhye decided to talk to her father alone. Her mother

refuse but yunho and shinhye convinced her. she needed to talk to him. They are in a restaurant, her father said that

they will meet some of his friends. “ah, Park Moon Shik” her eyes fixated on the chubby guy with a lady on his side.

“Mr. Kim.” Shinhye was instructed to seat on the left side on his father. Funny, her father didn’t know her name at

all. “dal” was the only thing her father called her. shinhye’s felt someone is looking at her, she look at him, a

beautiful boy, too beautiful. “ah, this is my son, jae,” “what a handsome boy Mr. kim” her father said. “and who is

this pretty girl?” she look down even more. “my.. niece.. hyemi?” she wanted to run away. What kind of father is

he, he doesn’t know her name. hyemi? Who is that? she didn’t corrected that. “appa, why are we here? Are you

going to make a marriage meeting this early? I’m only 17, and her, what 12-13?” she heard the boy said. “Jae sit

down.” Mr. kim said. “no, I wont be sitting here looking at her. she’s disgusting”.

“disgusting?” shinhye’s blood still boils when she remembered what that “jae” boy told her. all her life that was the

insult that she didn’t like. Sure she a mistake but she is not disgusting. After that, shinhye decided that she didn’t

need to be loved by anyone rather than her family and herself. she trust no one other than her family. When her

father’s relatives, who don’t have a child, asked her mother if they can take her with them, she agreed

immediately. She needed to be away from Seoul, she needs to reinvent herself. her mother don’t like the idea but

she insisted. No one will know her existence. Mr. Jung’s name will not be jeopardize. She can’t let it happen. Her

mother did hide her from the hypercritical people who wants to taint Mr. Jung’s good name.  she decided to live in

the name Shine Park. A nobody. Ice queen. Untouchable.
