Sorry, my friend...

Memories of a friend...

I packed my bags.

Looking around that house make my heart torn to pieces.

I looked at my watch and it was time to go.

I picked up my bus ticket and rushed out toward the bus station.

Leaving that huge mansion, luxurious cars and a purse full of 100 dollars and ready-to-serve credit cards.

I stepped into the bus and took a seat in the middle of the row.

After a few minutes, the bus moves to its destination.

On the bus, I saw the sun rose majestically in the sky heralding the dawn of a new glorious new day.

Maybe I was a bit early but I was glad that I have a chance to see that.

After waiting for one hour, I reached my destination.

A beautiful, white sandy beach.

The wave was splashing and the wind caressed my cheeks and ruffled my hair.

I put down my bag on a plank branch and headed toward the crystal clear sea.

I quickly jumped into the sea and splashed the water.

Even though I was alone but it was so much fun.

I had not been there since two years ago.

This place was full of sweet memory and sad nostalgia.

After that, I was dead beat. I checked in at a simple but nice resort. When I opened the door of my room, I was satisfied with it.

From the window of my room, I saw the beautiful beach. That was the best scenery. I wore a white t-shirt and long black skirt.

Out and about, once again I headed towards the beach. A gentle wind was blowing and the tall coconut trees were dancing to

the rhythm of the wind.

The waves were splashing.

I sat on the sandy beach while looking at the deep blue sea.

Suddenly tears running out from my eyes.

“Sorry, Song Yi Kyung. Sorry, Kwon Ji Young.”

I kept repeating those words.

My crying sound was drowning by the soothing sound of the waves.

“Are you okay?”

I looked down and saw a 6-year-old girl.

She came close to me and wipes my tears.

“Don’t cry. If you cry, I will cry too,”

she said those words as if she knows how I felt.

I smiled at her and asked “Do you want to hear a story?”.

She just nodded and sat beside me.

Song Yi Kyung.

She was a friend who always forgive me when I make mistake and cheered me when I down.

Three years ago, that was the time when Kwon Ji Young, a guy who had stolen Yi Kyung’s heart and a best friend of mine, proposed to Yi Kyung.

That beach was the witnessed of their true love.

But on the wedding day, Ji Young was late.

Wearing a beautiful white dress, Yi Kyung waited for him outside her house.

The wedding was going to be held at the green tranquil compound of her house.

On that time, I was also late.

I drove my car at a high speed because I did not want to miss my best friend’s wedding.

When I almost arrived at Yi Kyung’s house, I saw she was waving.

I just kept staring at her and suddenly

“BANG”.

My heart missed a beat or two when I realized that I hit someone.

Then I saw Yi Kyung’s eyes were nearly popped.

As fast as lightning, I got out from my car and I remained speechless when I saw a guy in a white tuxedo was lying on the road.

Yi Kyung’s face was as white as a sheet as she saw her beloved future husband was covered with blood.

On her wedding day, she lost Ji Young.

I felt guilty to Yi Kyung and I kept thinking would she forgive me for killing half of her heart.

I burst into tears when she said that she had forgiven me.

A year passed, she was diagnosed with cancer.

Her days were numbered as she only had two more years before she leave the world.

If Kwon Ji Young was still alive, even though she was suffering from cancer, I bet she would smile the rest of her life.

On her last day, Yi Kyung and I went to the beach.

She said that she wanted to die at a place full of her memory with Ji Young.

She was wearing her wedding dress while looking at the sea.

I was standing behind her as she walked forward.

I did not want Yi Kyung to see my tears. Then she started running, and shouted

“Kwon Ji Young, wait for me”.

Suddenly she falls down.

I rushed toward her and checked her pulse.

“After that what happen?”,

the little girl asked me.

I told her that Yi Kyung died in her wedding dress.

The little girl then told me that Ji Young and Yi Kyung’s wedding would be held in Heaven. Her words make my hearts felt so much better.

Then suddenly a little boy came to us.

That boy held the little girl’s hand and they ran towards the sea.

For a slight moment, Isaw Yi Kyung and Ji Young were holding hand, running towards the sea with a bright smile plastered on their face.
