Wolves
Description
The first night the Wolves attacked was the worst night.
When they attacked, howling and brandishing weapons, there was little anyone could do. The townspeople of Huang Shi were simple people; shopkeepers and innkeepers and farmers. These people weren’t warriors, and they were unable to fend off the Wolves. Some of the town’s men fought, but with little or no skills, they were defeated easily. Men were killed, women , houses and crops were burnt down and livestock were killed. Every few nights, the townspeople would hear howling from the woods, and they would know the Wolves (named so because they howled before and after their attacks) were about to attack.
The people of Huang Shi prayed to their Goddess, FeiFei, begging for a saviour. And after a month of suffering from the Wolves’ raids, their prayers were answered.
FeiFei sent a young woman down to Huang Shi. The young woman was small and thin and wore a red cloak. She didn’t seem like much, she was someone who you could easily forget. Many were sceptical that she would be able to do anything about their predicament, and didn’t believe her when she said that she was sent to Huang Shi by FeiFei. But on the first attack after her arrival, she protected Huang Shi from the Wolves, proving every doubt about her wrong.
Armed with a bow and a quiver, she defeated the Wolves for the first time, killing one, injuring some and sending the rest running back to the woods.
She went by the name Jia.
However, most called her Red Riding Hood.
Foreword
Shoot me.
No, really, please shoot me.
I can't believe I started another story. But I had this idea knocking around my head for a while and when I saw the competition, I knew I just had to enter. So until December, my writing priorites will be centered around this and my other entry for a different competition, Complications.
This is an entry for kpopbaby03's Once Upon A Time writing contest. Starring my miss A bias, Jia + MBLAQ. The fairytale I've chosen is "Little Red Riding Hood". The poster is by sheyraa @ Pure Design!
Please enjoy reading!
Just a note: As an Irish teen, I'm familiar with UK spellings, eg color = colour. So please bear with me.
