It is the year 2020. Two months ago, North Korea attacked South Korea, and the two countries are officially at war. Every physically able man in each country has been drafted into the military, included two unsuspecting young men who have no idea that their paths are destined to cross…

Cho Kyuhyun – 20 year old male South Korean. A little young to be joining the military already but extremely brave and strong for his age. Proud to be representing his country in war, and his family is excited and honored to have him become a soldier. He’s the kind of person who knows what he wants and usually is very persistent and won’t back down. Sometimes he can seem sweet on the outside but he can turn a little evil.

Lee Sungmin – 22 year old male North Korean. Due to the strict rules of his country, he’s been training to join the military for years. Now that the war has started he doesn’t question the fact that he’ll be going off to fight because that’s the way he was raised. Although he is truly a pacifist, he is a follower, and is willing to go along with what others say because he is ignorant to the truth of the world. He’s a very kind and naturally compassionate person who always has the right advice.

Other characters:

Leeteuk – 27 year old South Korean, Kyuhyun’s commanding officer. He’s very caring for his dongsaengs, but is strict and always follows the rules.

Heechul – 27 year old North Korean, Sungmin’s commanding officer. He’s lazy and bossy, and doesn’t really care about anything but himself.

Ryeowook – 21 year old South Korean, Kyuhyun’s friend and fellow soldier. He’s very serious when it comes to battle but likes to joke around with Kyuhyun and their other friends sometimes.

Mi Sun – 10 year old North Korean girl that Sungmin meets. Smart and clever, she knows a lot about getting around the countryside.
