Correcting The Epochs
Zi Tao is cursed.
Zi Tao can control time and therefore, he is cursed. True, you might say that he can use it to his advantage--and he does. But special cases don't always work that way. After eighteen years of tremendous grief because of this god-forsaken ability; he decides to get the clock to stop ticking.
On the thirteenth of November, Tao will kill himself.
It would be easy, he thinks. Just jump off a high place and it's an instant death, right? No more live-action replays of time or visiting the future spontaneously. He thinks that the fires of hell would be milder than the flashes of agony he's experiencing with every breath he takes.
But special cases don't always work that way.
Time won't allow him to call it quits just because he can't bear anymore suffering.
Instead of the much-awaited gates of afterlife that Tao prepared himself to face just as his feet leaves the rooftop's edge and into the ground; Zi Tao is thrown back thirteen seconds earlier--back to the time when his feet was on the rooftop's surface.
He jumps once more; only to have the same thing happen to him again and again.
He can't die.
Once again, time stretches out its hand to stop and control him--getting him stuck right before he puts a stop to everything.
Zi Tao is cursed.

Somewhere high above, an eye peeks through the clouds, a smile forms on someone's face, and a clock starts ticking; marking the start of a countdown.
