No More Than Strangers

Description

Witnessing her own son commit the most hideous act of all before her, Jessica questions herself, has she always really known her own child? Had she not been the best mother, providing her child with the best she could? Or was he no more than a stranger to her?

author's note;

This is a repost from my previous AFF.

I thought I'd just give a slight warning that this one shot contains a little bit of violence, so little that it's almost unnoticeable. Other than that, it's fine. :)

In school, I was given a single word "Strangers" for my writing test. I don't know how this idea came to me, but I certainly hope I haven't misinterpreted the theme. I've changed bits of it, the names, and voila, it's a k-pop related one shot.

The children in the one shot are fictional characters; I didn't use any idol to personify them.

For those looking for romance, this is not a romance story, but rather a story on relationships between family members.

Nevertheless, enjoy. :)

Foreword

Ten years ago, if anyone asked me whether I thought of myself as a good mother, I would say yes immediately.

Right now, if someone asked me the same question, “Do you think you’ve been a good mother?”

I think I would cry and reply no.

When did he grow so tall? Did he always dress in black from top to toe? What is that band that he has their name scrawled in pen ink on the back of his hand?

Who is this man standing before me? Do I know this man?

This is such a sad story and it struck me how incredibly realistic it was. The concept of strangers is scary yet completely profound. Every day when we walk down the street, we see hundreds, if not thousands, of unfamiliar faces. Strangers. But how often do you look to the people closest to you and wonder if they too are strangers.
