Chapter 3

“I want him back, hyung. Help me, please.”

“Are you serious?” Sungmin hyung made it sound preposterous.

“I am dead serious, hyung. Since the day I left him, I never thought of anyone else but him. The 2-year duration of our relationship was the best 2 years of my life.” I was trying to convince him that my intentions are true.

“But Kyu, don’t you just want to be friends with him? Now that we are in one group, it won’t be good if you pursue your love for him. You can affect a lot of people.” Sungmin hyung tried to put some sense into me.

“Hyung, I’m sorry but I really love him and that will never change. I’ve been waiting for 3 years for this kind of opportunity to come up and now that it’s here, it’s time for me to take action. I’m so sorry, hyung, if you think that this is too selfish of me.” I still apologized for going against his words.

Sungmin hyung sighed.

“You know, I can now see your evil self from before. You might not know it but it’s still there in you. You just need a little push for it to show up again and I think claiming Ryeowook back will be the solution. You have to release your inner evilness, Kyu. That’s the only way Ryeowook can give in to you. If you act inferior in front of him, he will always think that he’s superior and he will just ignore you then make you suffer on purpose.” I think Sungmin hyung is already helping me out.

“Hyung, is that an advice?” I smiled to show positivity.

“You talked me into doing this! I hate you for making me agree!” Sungmin hyung acted like he was irritated but he laughed afterwards and patted my head.

“Thank you so much, hyung!” As an initial reaction, I took his hand and shook it without stopping.

Sungmin hyung laughed.

“Oh Kyu, you are such a pain in the head.” Sungmin hyung removed his hand from my grip.

“Sorry for that, hyung.” I apologized once more.

“Don’t worry. But you first have to tell me in detail how you guys first met. What happened in your first meeting?” Sungmin hyung looked like a hungry puppy.

I was about to speak but I immediately sealed my lips when we both heard a door being closed shut loudly. 

“Don’t tell me it’s him again.” Sungmin hyung said in disbelief and I nodded as I saw the walking figure of Ryeowook.

“Oh don’t mind me. Just continue holding each other’s hands.” Ryeowook was getting near us and the both of us stared at him in confusion.

“Were you watching us, Ryeowook!?” Sungmin hyung’s face brightened up.

Hearing Sungmin hyung’s question, I immediately looked at Ryeowook with wide eyes.

“The hell?!” Ryeowook was now glaring at Sungmin hyung.

“Well if you weren’t watching us, how will you know that we were holding hands a while ago?” Sungmin hyung patted my leg under the table as he raised his eyebrows on Ryeowook.

For a second, I saw Ryeowook gulp. Don’t tell me he’s jealous. Is my suspicion true? 

“Don’t be so full of yourself you—“ 

“What? Can’t think of an insulting word, Ryeowook?” Sungmin hyung was really getting in the mood of teasing Wookie.

“Oh shut up!” Ryeowook grabbed the tub of ice cream from the table then he slumped onto the couch and the television.

“Why are you staying here, Ryeowook?” Sungmin hyung asked.

“Why? Am I not allowed to watch T.V.?” Ryeowook replied in a smug way.

“Just asking.” Sungmin hyung snorted.

I looked at Sungmin hyung hurriedly with worry as I saw Ryeowook stealing glances at us.

“Hyung, what will we do now?” I said in a soft voice.

Sungmin hyung moved closer to my ear to whisper something.

“I can definitely help you, Kyu. Ryeowook is definitely jealous. I am positive about it.” Sungmin hyung then faced me with raised eyebrows.

“You think, hyung?” I said in a hushed voice.

“Absolutely.” He replied with his two thumbs up.

After I fixed the bed for me to sleep in, I happily jumped on it and positioned myself comfortably for sleep. Even though the skies tell me that it’s sleeping time already, I’m still hyped up because of the determination bursting inside me. I will get him back no matter what. Even if he hates me for it, I don’t care. Call me the most stubborn person in the world but I think this will bring good outcome for the both of us. 

I will make him forgive me. I will explain why I left him 3 years ago and I hope he finds it in his heart to forgive me. The only thing that keeps me believing that he can forgive me is the belief that his understanding and considerate self is still hiding somewhere inside him. If winning him back will make me return to the jolly person I was before, I think there is a bigger possibility that Ryeowook will be his old self again. 

While deciphering on my thoughts, Ryeowook suddenly walked out of the bathroom wearing comfy clothes and a towel around his neck. I was expecting that he will walk towards his bed and ignore me until the sun comes up but you know how the world is currently playing with me so my expectations proved me wrong. 

He walked towards my bed and he stood beside it with me lying down and looking up at him with fear.

“What’s the matter, hyung?” I asked in a shaky voice.

Ryeowook didn’t respond. Instead, he just looked down on me with a blank expression.

“Ryeowook hyung?” I covered my mouth with my hands because of scariness. 

Ryeowook meticulously pulled the towel from his neck and within a flash, he hit me sadistically with it on the leg. 

“KIM RYEOWOOK!!!!!! WHAT THE F---“ I instantaneously stopped my cursing even before the bad word came out of my mouth. 

I curled in pain and tried to stop thinking about the feel of sting I felt so it would hurt less.

“What was that for, hyung?!” I almost shouted but I controlled my voice.

By this time, Ryeowook was already lying down and he was totally ignoring my pained reaction.

I continued to glare at him and finally he noticed it.

“Turn the lights off.” He just said.

“You know I can’t sleep without lights on!” I demanded. Before, I will always wait for him to turn off the lights and turn on the bedside lamp because he knows how much I love it when he does that. It’s like showing his affection for me. Even though what I said will bring memories from the past, I don’t care. He was too mean for hitting me with no reason.

“Do I look like I care? Turn it off, NOW.” He was lying down on his side, facing me but he was looking at me with loathe in his eyes. 

Scared by his looking, I slowly stood up and turned off the light. It was pitch black and I didn’t like it. I moved slowly and used my hands to locate my bed. I wanted to turn on the lamp but it was beside Ryeowook’s bed and I don’t even want to dare to go close to him right now. 

After several minuscule steps, I finally found it and I hurriedly threw my body on it. I moved around for a bit until I found the perfect sleeping position. I was forming images of light in my head to woo me into s
