It’s the beginning of September, end of summer. I walked into my class who is always noisy.

“Hey everyone!” I greeted them happily and waved.

“Yo! Nara!” One of the popular guy says to me and waved back. I blushed.

 His name is Jang Hyunseung. He is  one of the basketball team while I’m one of the cheerleader.

I became a cheerleader because of him. I have a crush on him.

I quickly went to my friends at the front corner next to the window, I didn’t want him to see my embarrassed face.

“Well done, you got his attention.” One of my friend says while nudging me, Kim Hyuna.

We have been my friends ever since we were in junior high.

 Heo Gayoon, Kim Hyuna, Jeon Jiyoon Nam Jiyhyun and Kwon sohyun.

We are a one team as a cheerleader, we called ourselves 4minute.

“S-shut up!” I said and cover my face. They giggled

“When exactly are you going to confess to him?”  Gayoon said and took my hand away from my face.

“Me? Confess? No way!” I said nervously and put my bag on my chair

“Come on Nara, you should at least try..”Jiyoon said

“Yeah, what she say!”Jiyhyun said and did a Hi-5 with Jiyoon.

I looked at Sohyun, who is sitting beside me, reading.

“What do you think Sohyun? Should I?” I ask her

“It’s up to you..” She said and continue reading her book.

The teacher came and all the students went back to their seats. I rest my chin on my palm and looked outside the window.

‘Should I?’  I took a glance at Hyunseung who is sitting on the second row. Our eyes met and he smiled, I quickly turned my head.

‘He saw me!’ 

 

Today, Hyunseung and me have to do the duty so we stayed back. My friends went back and give a ‘Good Luck’ sign before they left.

“Hey, Nara! It’s look like we’re on the duty together.” He said and smile

“Ah..That’s right..” I said embarrassingly

I was cleaning the board, but I couldn’t reach the top part.

‘Urgghh~ Why do teachers have to write so high?’ I thought

I tiptoed to reach it but I felt Hyunseung hand taking the whiteboard eraser from me

“If you can’t reach it, why didn’t you tell me to do it?” He said

“Ah..” I said facing down. I could feel his warm back behind me  and of course I felt like I’m a midget.

“Then, what else?” He ask and looked around the class.

“It’s a mess” He said

“Well, let’s just clean it” I said and took the broom stick and start sweep the floor, he did the same

Suddenly, he poke me. I turned and saw that he was acting innocent. I start to poke him back

“What was that?” He ask

“Well, you did to me first!” I said and poke him even harder.

Then, suddenly it became a poke war.

“Okay~ Okay~ You win” He said

“Let’s finish this, or not we will never go home” He said and continue to clean the classroom

After we finished cleaning the classroom we went back home. While we were walking down stairs.

“Nara, have anyone ever told you that you are cute?” He ask and I was shocked

‘Act normal! It’s just a question..Answer him!’ 

“Nope~ Never in my life!” I said casually

“Well I think you are” He said which surprised me

“Eh?” I said and turned to face him. Suddenly, I lost my balance and was about to fall. I closed my eyes.

“Nara!” Hyunseung shouted and pulled my arm before I could fall

I open my eyes slowly and saw that I am hugged by Hyunseung. His scent…is AWSOME

I could hear my heart pumping~  *Tha-thump* Tha-thump*

He slowly let me go.

“Yah! If you fall just now, you could have been injured!” He said

“I’m fine. Thank you..” I said nervously

“Good thing I catch you. If not,  you might not be cheering for me for next week tournament” He whined

“I already said ‘Thank you’, so stop whining~” I said

“Well, ‘thank you’ is just not enough!” He pouted

“Fine..” I said and quickly gave him a kiss on the cheek

‘What?...OMG!’ 

He look and me and was shock as I am. I did it without even thinking of my actions

“Wha-“ Before He could talk I cut him in.

“Well, you said that saying ‘Thank You’ is just not enough” I said and walked off. He follow me from behind. We walk back to our home in silence

“W-well, are you ready for next week?” I ask breaking the silence

“Of course I have been practising lately!” He said

“That’s good! I really hope we can win this time..” I said

“Then, you have to cheer for me” He said

“Of course!” I said and later on we started to talk about school and homework etc and went separate ways to go home

“See you Nara!” He said and waved goodbye

“Bye!” I said and waved back

I enjoyed spending times with him like this. Even if he doesn’t know my feelings for him, it is best if we are spending our times together like we did today.

 

 =The next 2 days it was Home Time (1:30pm)=

Usually after school we have a cheerleading practise at the gym.  We went to the locker to change our clothes.

“You guys are so sloww~ Come on, I want to cheer!” I said and stretched my arms. They were still changing to their clothes while I’m the only one who got dressed quickly.

“Why don’t you go warm up fist?” Sohyun said

“Eh? Okay!” I said happily and went to the gym. I went inside the gym and saw no one.

I play on the song that we supposed to practise, the game starts next week and it is held at our school court since it’s big, it can fit many people here.So we need to practise until then. I started to warm up by doing some stretching.

Suddenly, I started to remember when I first met Hyunseung. It was last year, at this place.

=Flashback=

It was the final between our school and Bucheon school. I was in the crowd supporting my friends who were cheerleading. Then, I start to notice something.

“Wuahh~ That guy is fast..” I mumbled as I saw a guy who is wearing a number 8 shirt on the court

He gave all the other players this stern, focused glare as he charge across the floor. I became even more drawn to him.

“He’s cool..” I said and my eyes were glued to him.

At the end, the Bucheon school won. I went on the court to meet my friends

“Hey guys! Great job!” I said as I walked to them                           

“Hey Nara! It’s a shame we lost..” Gayoon said

“Well, you cheered the best thought!” I said

“Thanks for coming..” Hyuna said and hugged me

“Ah! That’s right! That guy!” I said and pointed at him who I was interested to.

“What? Hyunseung?” Sohyun ask and looked at where I pointed to.

“What’s wrong with him?” Jiyhyun said while wiping her sweat.

“He’s cool~” I said and smiled widely

“Then, go talk to him..”Jiyoon said and pushed me.

“Eh? Alone?” I pouted and face Jiyoon

“Fine, I’ll go with you..”Jiyoon said.

We walked closer to Hyunseung, Jiyoon tapped his shoulder and abandoned me. She ran back to the others.

‘Jiyoon! You traitor!’ I thought.

“Yes?” Hyunseung said facing me and gave me a welcomed smile. He was sweating..HOT!

“A-ah..I just wanted to say that you were cool when you were playing just now..” I said nervously.

“Eh? Really? Thanks a lot!” He said and pat my head. He talked to me as if I’m one of his close friend.

“Anyway, what’s your name?” He ask me

“Ah?! It’s Nara, Cha Nara..” I said

“Oh..that’s really a nice name. I’m Jang Hyunseung. Nice to meet you!” He said

“Nice to meet you too” I said and smiled. We only met but I felt closer to him already

“It’s a shame we didn’t win. Sorry to let you down.” He said

“But still, I enjoyed watching you played!” I said

“I’m glad to hear that..” He said

“Ya! Hyunseung! Let’s go!” One of his friend called him

“Okay!” He replied

“Mian..I wish to talk with you a little longer, but it seems that I have to go now” He said

“It’s okay. I’ll see you around then.” I said

“Then, bye. Nara!” He said and ran off to his friend.

I felt happy when he called my name. I turned around and saw Jiyoon giggling.

“Jeon Jiyoon! Come here!” I said and start to chase her

“Ah! Go away!” She said and ran

“How dare you abandoned me! You traitor!” I said

The others were giggling while watching us. Later on, I decided to become one of the cheerleader team just to see hyunseung more often.
