Inside a hallow empty corridor, a particular boy heard a loud thud only a few meters from where he’s standing. He turned around and saw an unfamiliar girl, around his age stumbled on the floor with random pieces of paper, t-shirts, and props flying in every corner.

“Let me help you”, Sho offered while gathering the pieces on the floor into one pile.

“Oh, thank you”, the girl bowed once and soon saw Sho extending his hand to help her stand up. Amu shot a wide smile and took his arm while trying to balance herself around massive prop on her left hand, “I should’ve taken two trips”, she said that somehow shot an invincible arrow on the boy’s chest.

“Wah, she’s pretty”, Sho thought and was left frozen for at least 4 seconds.

“Ah, Hirano Sho-kun, right?”, Amu immediately recognised the boy. Sho is currently topping the charts as the number 1 idol in the industry, competing against Yamada Ryosuke – the ace of the current group she works for.

A sudden blush crept up on the boy’s face when the girl uttered his name. There was something about her voice and her innocent face that somehow made his heart rate triple in pace, “H-Hai”, he replied, slowly dropping her hand which he noticed he’d been holding for the longest time, “I guess most girls know me now, ne?”, he uttered but soon realised how arrogant he must’ve sounded.

“What the hell did I just say?!”, he mentally scolded himself.

“That or… because I work here. I work with Jump”, the girl showed her badge before lifting the box she dropped just awhile ago. She then bowed her head slightly, giving her goodbye.

“K-Kitagawa-san!”, Sho called her back, her name stuck in his head from the ID badge Amu showed him. Without thinking, he blocked her way and took the box onto his own hands, “I didn’t mean it like that. I just…”, he mused while hiding half of his face with the box of props on his hand.

Sensing his embarrassment, Amu giggled. She had a few shares of wrong impressions with idols, heck, she had the same first impression on her boyfriend when she first met him. Meeting Sho for the first time actually reminded her of when she met Hey! Say! Jump for the first time ,“Don’t worry. You’re not the first one who told me that in this place”. Amu gave her one of her brightest smiles and this is when Sho knew that this is not the last time he’ll be seeing her.

*Hirano Sho’s POV*

I am officially running out of reasons why I am inside the main Johnny’s Jimusho building when my actual headquarters is two blocks away. In the past two weeks, I have been sneaking around this building just to take a glimpse of Amu-chan. Ever since that destined day, she’s been living inside my head rent-free.

“Sho-kun? Did you forget something again?”, she asked. My original plan was to invite her for coffee, but my mind just went blank. Did I ever learn how to talk? Just a quick glance at her and suddenly, I question my intelligence.

“Uhm, yeah… Our manager asked me to borrow some of Jump’s CDs to practice. We’ll be performing one of their songs for the end of year show”

“I see… Then let me get them for you”, she innocently said and hurriedly turned, not noticing a big trolley just behind.

“Look out!”, Having my mind distracted, I only noticed it in a fracture of time, making me pull her body close, twirling her around with her back pressed against the wall. She is slightly smaller than I am, and I instantly positioned myself over to prevent my body from crushing her from underneath.

I held the adrenaline rush accountable for making my heart pound like it is in the verge of popping out of my chest, but half of me blamed the fact that she is only a few centimetres away. I could feel her breath touching my chin and I could almost smell the perfume she’s wearing. If only I could slow my heart rate down in a click of a button, I would’ve done it already.

I saw her looking up and our gaze immediately locked. I held my breath and was hypnotised by her eyes.

“Amu-chan!”, my fantasies were disrupted by Chinen-kun. Hearing his voice, I immediately withdrew away from Amu and tried my best to hide my flustered face. I slowly turned around and saw the older boy examining Amu from head to toe in worry. She must be very close with Chinen. Every time I come visit, she's always with him. Are they together?

“No, I’m fine. Sho pulled me at the right second”, Amu smiled, turning her head as she explained it to the older boy. Suddenly, all my hopes drained out when my senpai’s hands went on either side of Amu’s arms as if protecting the latter. “Thanks, Sho”, she nodded once before placing both of her hands over mine. Her warmth diffused all over my body to a point of a heart burn. At that moment, all I wanted was to take her away from Chinen-kun. But being a villain in their love story is not on my list of things to do today. Maybe I’ll save it some other time.

“Thanks for pulling her back there, Sho”, Chinen fist bumped me for saving his girlfriend. I felt defeated and just reciprocated his friendly gesture.

“Sure, anytime”, I replied and awkwardly watched the couple walk away. Save me, I’m in love with my senpai’s girlfriend!

“Yo!”, Sho heard a familiar voice calling over his shoulder. He brooded for 2 minutes over his failed love affair with someone who does not even know about his feelings before being disturbed by one of his respected seniors. To Sho's defence, something good actually came out of stalking Amu these past few weeks. He got really close with his seniors from Hey! Say! Jump, and one of them is Daiki, “You’re here a lot. Is everything okay?”, the older boy curiously asked and immediately noticed Sho’s sullen expression, “Oh wait! I know that look! Girl troubles?”.

Daiki must’ve hit a nerve when he saw the love-struck boy flinch, “Yappari”.

“How did you know?”

“I’m an expert by now”, Daki smugly replied. He looked around and a sudden realisation hit him, “Wait, is she someone from this building?”, he continued and made the younger boy panic.
