Abnormal 17th Birthday

Vampire Vineyard [HIATUS]

A week passed normally for everyone else but not for Hyemi, Hyerin, Seyong and Minji. The four friends were very excited for the twins’ birthdays. Well, they have always been excited for each others’ birthdays every year but the anticipation is at a different level this year.

Seyong and Minji had been keeping their eyes a lot on the twins as per asked by Gunwoo. They did their best to be as discreet as they could and seemed like they did a pretty decent job.

Since Gunwoo asked Seyong to especially looked out for the twins during their birthdays’ eve and on the birthday itself, Seyong and Minji discussed together and agreed to keep close with the twins.

The bell rang indicated the end of another school session.

Hyemi stretched her body and released a heavy sigh.

“What’s with the big fat sigh, babe?” Minji sat on Hyemi’s desk.

“I dunno. Somehow I’m feeling frustrated. Anxious but excited at the same time. Molla~~,” Hyemi shrugged.

“Aren’t we always like this whenever our birthdays are coming?” Hyerin took the lollipop which Seyong just unwrapped. When Seyong was about to yell at her, she just stuck her tongue out. “Mehrong ;p”

“I know but I’m feeling really not good inside. I dunno, Hyerin aa let’s go home now,” Hyemi swung her back on one of her shoulders and took the books on her desk. Seyong and Minji exchanged nervous glances. Minji nodded lightly at him.

“Hey twins. Let’s have a birthday party or something. Minji and I will come over to your house,” Seyong uttered nervously.

“You know we don’t celebrate our birthdays,” Hyerin reminded them. It’s not like Seyong and Minji forgot about it honestly.

“Celebrating our birthdays is like having festival on our parents’ deathdate,” Hyemi muttered silently.

Hyemi and Hyerin became orphan on the very day the breathed the earth’s air. Their aunt took care of them and lived with them together until their 12th birthday. Their aunt was no mother figure. She kept on saying how the twins were symbol of unfortunate lives, their parents were dead when they came to life, not able to withstand their ruthless aunt, the twins asked their aunt to leave them for good. They rewarded their aunt with a heap of fortune. It was good that at least their parents left them with a lot of money and properties. So, the aunt made no fuss when the twins asked her to leave with lots of money to compensate, she left almost at once. Ever since, they lived together. Only two of them in the house with a maid ahjumma. When they transferred to a co-ed school they met with Seyong and Minji. Ever since, they have been good friends.

“It’s not like you reach 17 years old every day,” Minji said softly to Hyemi and Hyerin.

“I appreciate what both of you are trying to do, but we just don’t feel like doing it, isn’t it Hyemi?” Hyerin looked at Hyemi.

“Hyerin is right. Sorry guys,” Hyemi let out another sigh.

“Andwe getta. No no, this can’t be. Minji and I are going to follow both of you to your house. For your birthdays and for…….” Seyong stopped to find better words.

“For what?” Hyemi asked, suddenly interested.

“Ummm you remember when we said about surprise thingy last week? Well, we’ll let you know about it if you allow me and Seyong to go to your house,” Minji uttered nervously.

“Just what the heck is happening with both of you??” Hyerin became impatient.

“So, just please listen to us,” Seyong argued back.

“Arasso!! Let’s get going then. Shall we?” Hyemi concluded.

“LET’S GO!!!” Seyong flung his arms around Hyemi’s shoulders and the four friends walked side by side heading to the twin’s house.

It was 11.30PM. The four of them sat in the living room watching the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Since on their way they dropped by the bakery, they bought some cookies and cake. Since Hyemi and Hyerin insisted to not pay special attention for their birthdays, they decided to just eat the cake.

“Isn’t it good if we have some super power or something? I wish I could be a great wizard like Hermione,” Hyemi suddenly commented.

“You’ll be,” Seyong said nonchalantly.

“Gee~ As if,” Hyemi pouted.

“Well, you do have super power. You’ll have it,” Seyong looked at the twins.

“Mwoya? Are you telling me that I can apparate and disapparate?”Hyerin smirked.

“Well, maybe not something fancy like those in Harry Potter. But you can move really fast from one place to another. Like, really fast,” Minji added on.

“Minji, you too?” Hyemi sounded frustrated.

“Well, I’m not lying though. But we’ll have to wait and see what’s your element first,” Minji said.

“What element are you talking about?” Hyerin asked curiously.

“Well, both of you listen carefully. We, all of us. I mean you, you, Minji and I are…….,” Seyong’s words were cut off suddenly when the window’s glass was broken. Then two men (apparently they dashed in through the window) appeared. They were pale, eyes inhumanely black. They eyed the twins with utmost interest.

Hyemi and Hyerin were too shocked to even scream or say anything.

“Minji ya~ Stay close to the twins,” Seyong instructed.

“What is this? What’s happening?” Hyemi managed to utter in the chaos.

“We have to leave here, as soon as possible,” Minji looked gravely back and forth from Seyong to them and at times she threw nervous glances at the two men.

Seyong ran forward and punched one of the men. But because he managed to evade him, Seyong’s punch landed on the wall. The wall coughed its dust and a few broken bricks. The twins gasped in astonishment and disbelief.

Again, another two men appeared from the window.

“Gunwoo hyung,” Seyong uttered.

“We’ll take care from here. Leave this house with them and head straight to the Vineyard, arasso?”

“Ne, hyung,”

Seyong hold Hyemi’s arm and Minji took Hyerin’s. Minji and Seyong lead the twins down the hall to the front door. It was pitch black and they dashed through the night.

Hyemi and Hyerin were sure that Seyong and Minji were just walking normally but the speed was inhumane. The buildings around them seemed to go past them though it was them who went past the buildings. It was like watching a movie in a fast forward mode.

The surroundings came to a still motion when Minji and Seyong halt their movement.

There, in front of them, an ancient looking but proud and mysterious mansion stood. It was creepy to look at the building in the darkest of night with the harsh wind chilling them to the bone.

“Where the heck are we? Mind explaining to us now?” Hyerin turned her head to Seyong and Minji.

“Well, welcome to the Vampire Vineyard,” Seyong said with a smile. He looked pearly white against the night. And Minji too, was wearing a warm, ghostly smile.

“Let’s go in,” Minji looked at them and lead the way.

Hyemi and Hyerin walked in with their fingers intertwined, hands clasped tightly.

Hi readers!

I've decided to switch the point of view for this story from Hyemi's POV to 3rd person POV.

I'm hoping to receive more love from readers :D

Don't stay silent, ne? It would be great of you can say something.

hehehehhehehehhehe

Oh yeah btw since I usually update my story at 2AM or 3AM, sometimes I got too sleepy to check for spellings and the grammar. So there will be errors here and there. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience but I'll check it and correct the errors as soon as possible.

like i said previously, i'll try my best to update more frequently.
