Oh It's You!
Forever Hidden
Hae Jin's POV:
School ended and I decided to go to my favorite place in the world.
The ice cream shop.
Yum!
I went to my car and drove excitedly.
When I got there, my eyes were automatically glued to the ice cream flavor display.
"Um I'll have the mint chocolate chip in a cup," I ordered, not tearing my gaze off the display.
"Okay. I'll bring it to your table,"some worker said.
I wasn't paying to who it was.
I just picked a seat near the window where I could see people passing by.
I felt my phone buzz for the eighth time.
I inwardly groaned and looked at my screen.
Hi,
I'm really sorry.
I guess I acted like a jerk.
-L.Joe
Brief and there was not feeling.
The usual.
And I guess?
It's an I know!
You are acting like a jerk.
I moved onto the next message.
HEYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'M SUPER SORRY!
FORGIVE ME PLEASE!
-HANEUL
Oh well.
Delete, delete.
Now it looks like I never got those messages.
I sighed and looked at the window again.
"Is there something wrong Hae Jin?" someone asked.
"How do you know my name you creepe-Kris?" I thought outloud as I turned my head.
"Yup that's me," he replied while making a peace sign.
I smiled slightly from his cuteness.
"Wait, you work here?"I asked.
"Yeah. I started last week,"he confirmed.
Cool.
"I have break now, so I was wondering if I could sit with you?" he requested.
I agreed and he got a chair and a scoop of blueberry cheesecake ice cream for himself.
For a few minutes, we at silently.
SO AWKWARD!
Then, I broke the ice.
"As anyone caught your eye so far?" I casually blurted out.
"Yeah kinda,"he admitted,
Haneul's going be heart broken if it's not her.
"Who?" I pressed on further.
Kris put his finger to his lips and whispered,"Secret."
Ugh really?
Oh well.
He needs privacy too.
"I heard that you and Chunji are um.... separated," he mentioned.
"Yup, it just didn't work out," I muttered as I indulged another spoonful of ice cream.
Everyone most likely knows about it.
He just nodded understandingly.
After those two topics, we talked about random things and exchanged numbers.
I feels comfortable around him and he seems to always makes me laugh.
I'm less burdened, so I feel mentally lighter.
For that I thank him in my head!
His cheerfulness seems to spread.
Kris checked him watch and mouthed a couple swear words.
"I need to work now. I really sorry," he apologized.
"It's fine. I have to leave to," I lied.
We said goodbye and I got in my car to drive home.
