"You don't remember what day it is?"

Why is it so hard to remind your boyfriend that the day was very special. It was valentines day! It was a school holiday. The two of you were doing nothing on a date but still he acted as if today was any other day. No matter how hard you remind him, he just won't get it. Not sure if he was doing it on purpose or trying to forget it all.
