With wary eyes, Sehun eyes the machine. He's broken inside; the tired aura explains it all. He doesn't want to believe anything Luhan told him - he doesn't.

What if the machine doesn't work at all, and everything turns out to be a hoax?

When you wish for too much, you'll often end up being more disappointed than you expected. It's how he feels now. Sehun moves closer to the quirky invention, still reliving Luhan's words in his mind. It's not that he doesn't trust Luhan, the guy has been his best friend since forever. But Sehun can't think straight right now. All that's going through his mind now is, I can't lose you a second time.

As his hand twists the knob of the machine, his shaky fingers punch in the year and date he wants to be propelled back to.

12 ... April ... 2012.

His birthday.

Everything starts to blur and Sehun clutches onto the machine tightly with all his strength, shaking his head and blinking furiously. The world seems to swirl in front of his eyes in a brilliant mix of colors; it's spinning and turning. The last words he hears are Luhan's, telling him all about the time machine.

"I can't do this anymore."

Luhan stiffens, glancing up at his friend. "What do you mean?"

The grip around his cup of coffee becomes tighter as Sehun avoids his gaze, hot tears glazing his eyes for the tenth time that week. "I-I can't. Luhan, I can't. I miss her so, so m-"

"Shut the up and listen to me."

Luhan's never been one to mince words; Sehun should have realised that the moment he proposed to Yoona on their second date. Nevertheless, the words cut through him like a knife. He falters slightly, pushing his chair back and playing nervously with his fingers. "I-"

"Krystal didn't hope for you to be like this, even after her death."

There is silence. A tear slides down Sehun's cheek and drops into the fabric of his jeans as Sehun digs at it mercilessly; refusing to look at Luhan. He's never felt this ashamed in his life, and it's because of someone who's already passed on.

Luhan goes on, completely unaware of how much he's hurting his friend inside. "Move on, Sehun."

"Enough." Standing up, the chair screeches loudly against the contact of the slippery floor. Sehun stands up to, finally, eye his hyung. Tears are pooling up in his eyes and his nose is red. It's a spectacle to those in the cafe - except Sehun doesn't even care anymore. Luhan might, but he doesn't.

"You'll never know how much I miss her, because you barely" - he can't help himself - "know her. Xi Luhan, stop acting like it's so easy to move on; how would you feel if your precious Yoona suddenly kicked the bucket like Krystal did?" His question is laced with sarcasm. Before Luhan can help himself, his fist is firmly planted onto Sehun's jawline. When he removes his hand, he takes a step backward shakily. Sehun moves his hand to caress the now bloody bruise on his jaw.

"Forget it." With a bitter smile, he turns to leave.

"Wait, Sehun." Luhan clutches onto his hand, almost pleading with him not to leave. Sehun turns around with an icy look; Krystal's trademark. He misses the way she used to give him that look whenever he flirted with other girls, when he called her his wife in front of everyone despite repeat reminders on her part not to do so. 

He just misses Krystal, the other half who completed him.

Luhan avoids his gaze, looking at the floor.

"I might have something that ... would help you."
