The dark haired boy nodded slowly, not quite grasping her point just yet. “Uh huh…”

“Well, I’ll keep your ring and you’ll keep mine. Then when that day comes when you and I think we’ve fulfilled the greatest promise there is, we’ll return the rings to each other.” Sooyoung smiled broadly, obviously proud of her idea.

Wu Fan stared at her; his mind flooding with various promises they had and could make. He curled his fingers over her ring, content to just listen to his best friend go on and on about what she did during the other parts of the day. Smiling triumphantly, a quiet but content sigh escaped his lips, knowing that he had gotten her – and himself – the best gift ever.
