They were best friends since they were children. They were inseparable. When both of them joined SM Entertainment, Jinri got in f(x) while Jongin got in EXO. F(x) debuted first, so Jinri has no time to hang with Jongin. Jongin was sad and lonely. When EXO debuted, they’re even. They were so busy with their group activities.

Jinri has a crush on Jongin since they were still kids. He was protective, cute and cheesy. In the past and present, Jinri was so shy to confess to Jongin and was also afraid if she’d got rejected because these days, Jongin and Soojung were so close with each other, even on trainee days.

Since they were always together, she felt lonely. Taemin saw her sitting on the bench alone and decided to comfort her. She told Taemin everything, her crush on Jongin, the way Jongin and Soojung were always together. Taemin had a crazy idea which is; to make him jealous.
