Chunji was born as a servant in the influential Lee family. His father was always indebted towards the Lees because the Lees were the ones who paid for Chunji's ill mother's hospital fees, thus he became a butler in the family and brought his son along to pay back this favour. 

L.Joe was the only young master of the influential Lee family. His father was one of the richest business-man in South Korea and he was therefore provided with everything. Wealth, power and fame.

Chunji had nothing.
