Chapter 9
My Soulmate
Eunhyuk dialed Donghae’s number, but no answer.
“Yah, Donghae ya, neo odiga?” Eunhyuk asked to himself. He threw his sight to the empty street with a heavy breath.
He sighed. “How can you just leave me!”
He dialed Donghae’s number again—and again, disappointed.
“Pabo namja, you should’ve tell me if you wanna go. Haisy!”
He bit his lips. “Argh! Pabo! I shouldn’t have text him about it. Ah, I’ll get you if I have the chance…” he yelled. It was in the middle of night already and does this time still have taxis?
He walked back and forth in front of the hotel’s entrance. Not long after, Jessica and Yoona came walking out of the hotel.
Eunhyuk glanced at his back as he heard footsteps came down from stairs.
He gasped. “Oh? Huh… Oh! Oooh!!” He saw Jessica, speechless.
Hearing the voice, Jessica lifted her head up. Surprised, she skidded to a stop.
She looked at Eunhyuk with wide eyes.
“Jessica ya… Jessica Jung?!” He cupped his wide-opened mouth.
She, who still in shock, was just staring at him.
He un-cupped his mouth slowly and nodded his head hard. “You don’t… remember me?” he asked.
Yoona, who was just standing beside Jessica, stared at them, making no sound.
Silent.
“Eunhyuk sunbae…” she Jessica finally said.
His lips carved a smile.
“You still remember me!”
Sica smiled a bitter smile.
Eunhyuk still in disbelieve. Donghae and Jessica were in the same hotel all the time!
Silent again.
Then, Jessica started to walk.
“What are you doing here?” he asked, trying to make a conversation with her.
She glared at him and smiled. “Something.” She stopped beside him.
He chuckled. “Long time no see! Look at you now.”
She smiled. “What are you doing here?”
“Accompany… someone doing business.”
She nodded. Yoona then approached them both.
“I heard you cursing just now.” she said. “What happened?”
“Oh? Hahaha, err, my ride home ran away.” He bit his lips.
“Someone stole your car?!” Yoona looked at him with wide eyes.
“Oh, no! Well, it’s not my car. He, who’s supposed to be my ride home, went back on his own, leaving me here.”
Jessica smirked.
Yoona chuckled. “Your friend ditched you!” She didn’t quite know why but she felt that the word ‘ditch’ is the funniest word tonight.
He smiled. “Seems like it.” Then he paused, looking at Jessica. Standing in front of her for the first time after 3 years was really nerve-racking. Jessica’s expression was colder than before. He was scared of her once and seeing her like this make her frightened him more.
“So, how will you go home?” Yoona asked.
He shook his head. “Wait for the taxi maybe? If I found any.”
Yoona gasped. “Pity you.”
“Araso, Eunhyuk sunbae, it’s nice to see you. I’m going. Send my regards to your family.” Jessica said. Though she felt really uneasy about meeting Lee Donghae’s best friend here, she didn’t want to be so rude to him. “Yoona, kaja.” She looked at Yoona.
As they walked, Yoona looked at Jessica with a you’re-not-gonna-leave-him-here-are-you look. Eunhyuk was still standing behind them, not moving one inch. His eyes were locked on Jessica. ‘Is this real?’ He thought.
“Give him a ride. Pity him he has to wait for the taxi here in the cold.” Yoona whispered.
“What?! You’re crazy! I’m not going to give him a ride.” Jessica refused.
“He’s your sunbae. You’re not gonna be rude to him.”
Jessica scoffed. “I’m your boss and you have to hear what I say.”
“He is your sunbae.” Yoona repeated.
They skidded to a stop and Jessica shifted her sight to Yoona that was already staring at her with sharp stares. “You’re kidding?” Yoona shook her head twice still kept her eyes locked on Jessica.
Jessica let out heavy breath and nodded once. “Alright, you win.” Slowly, she turned her face around to Eunhyuk “Sunbae ah!” she called. “Wanna have a ride?”
Eunhyuk looked at her with wide eyes. “A ride? You’re giving me a ride home?!” he smiled. “Nae, nae, of course!” he ran towards them happily. “Ah, you’re really giving me a ride home?” He asked again.
Jessica was only smiling at him while Yoona nodded her head.
“Ah, Komawo! Komawo Sica ah!” Eunhyuk thanked them.
Smiling, they walked to Jessica’s white BMW.
