Hyung, I Want To Grow Up Fast!

Hyung, I Want To Grow Up Fast! [ONE-SHOT]

Yong Guk groaned at the next question the maknae came out with; it was annoying the hell out of him. The pink-haired boy was so innocent, it was hard to believe. And all of these questions about… certain activities, were all aimed at him, for some reason. At first, Yong Guk never thought anything of it – other than it was embarrassing for him – but he answered Zelo’s question normally enough. Then, the questions started to become more detailed and it was getting hard to answer them without making the younger question him more. And all of his other bandmates were always laughing at him for it. The thought that maybe they were involved in the maknae’s constant questioning flew through his mind more than once.

“Hyung!~ Answer my question.” Zelo moaned, gripping tightly onto Yong Guk’s t-shirt, trying to gain his hyung’s attention. The oldest moaned and looked straight into the other’s eyes.

“No! Go ask Daehyun or someone else!” he pushed the maknae away and stood up from the couch, stretching his annoyed limbs. Zelo pouted and started to argue.

“But Hyung! You’re the oldest, so you’re the most experienced right?” he stated. Yong Guk could hear all the other members laugh around him. No matter how much he wanted the maknae to stop, he couldn’t help but admit that that piece of information was indeed true.

“Look, just, why do you need to know about exactly?” he wondered, still not getting the real reason why he was asking so many questions.

“Well… To be honest, ever since I saw Daehyun and Youngjae do it, I’ve been curious…”

Silence completely filled the room. The leader shook his head, and took in what the maknae said another time. And then he looked over at the two guys that were mentioned. None of them were looking at anyone else but there hands. Yong Guk felt a large surge of anger flow through him as he stalked towards the guilty couple.

“Y-Yous… had ing ?!” he shouted, anger ripping through his tone in his voice. Everyone could hear how terribly angry the leader was. Daehyun didn’t say a word, so that left YoungJae – even though he was younger.

“Uh… No?” was all he said, and it took Yong Guk a lot of restraint to not smack the other across the face.

“…Zelo just said he saw you too.” He glared. YoungJae shrugged.

“Nope.”

The pink-haired boy shouted next.

“Hey! I did see you two!” Zelo pointed a finger accusingly at the couple. Daehyun interrupted.

“You don’t know what you saw!” he shouted, making the maknae flinch a little. The leader just continued to stay silent.

“I do too! For the lack of a better word, you were ing Youngjae!”

Everyone got quieter. Never, had they heard Zelo actually use a swear word.

“Choi Jun Hong! Don’t you dare use that word again!” Yong Guk shouted, fire in his eyes, completely unbelieving that the maknae just said that. Zelo flinched backwards.

“Well… That’s what it’s called right!” he said, trying to make his case a bit better for himself. Yong Guk turned around to face him completely.

“I don’t care what it’s called.” The leader said, glaring. Zelo felt completely ganged up on right now. And he didn’t like it one bit. He began to feel insecure, so he quickly his heel and ran to his own bedroom.

Yong Guk sighed and turned back around to face to the two guilty members.

“…Yous were really having right?” he asked, trying to convey himself as nice and calm.

“Yes. We were.” Daehyun said so simply, and YoungJae nodded along with him. The leader sighed.

“Great. Now Zelo’s mad at me. Thanks guys.”

The leader groaned and turned to start walking over to the younger’s room, entering it without asking for permission.

He looked around and noticed there was a large bump under the covers on the bed. Yong Guk sighed and walked over silently, sitting on the edge of the bed, and he began to speak.

“Jun Hong… I’m sorry I shouted at you. I’d just prefer it… if you didn’t use such vulgar words.” Trying to explain, he lay his hand on top of the covers, not really sure which part of Zelo’s body he was touching. He heard the younger groan in annoyance.

“Yeah, I get it. I’m young – but you guy’s need to educate me you know?” Yong Guk could hear light sniffles under the covers, and then Zelo popped his head out and stared at the leader with his bubbly eyes.

“Don’t… Don’t cry.” The leader pleaded as he brought his own hand to his maknae’s face, the cheek to try and calm the other down. If there was one thing he absolutely hated – was seeing Zelo cry. It hurt his heart, really. The maknae looked up at the leader and did his best to nod.

“S-Sorry… I-I’m so s-stupid…” he said, rubbing his eyes, trying to make the tears disappear on his own, but he stopped, as he felt Yong Guk’s thumb wipe them off himself.

“No you’re not. Just, all of these questions… you’re far too young to be thinking about it.” He tried to explain, and as he tried to take his hand away; he felt Zelo grab onto it and hold it next to his own cheek. And he just left it there. If that was what Zelo needed to stay calm at the moment – he was happy to give it to him.

“I-I… just want you guys to know, t-that I’m not that… fragile. I h-have a right to know…” The sorrow in Jun Hong’s voice nearly set the leader into tears. Damn, he really did have a soft spot for the younger.

“I do know that. The guys know that. I just don’t want you to grow up too fast.”

He honestly didn’t. It would hurt the leader if Zelo was growing up too fast, he was already in a famous band, and he didn’t want the youngest to get pushed into anything he didn’t want.

“I get it.” Zelo looked up into Yong Guk’s eyes. “But I want to grow up fast.” And he sat up properly. Without saying a word, he crawled closer to the leader and positioned himself in his lap. Yong Guk’s eyes widened open and he placed his hands on the maknae’s wrists, ready to push him off.

“What are you doing?” the leader asked worriedly. Zelo just stared into his eyes.

“Growing up.”

And suddenly, Zelo latched his own lips onto his leaders. Yong Guk’s eyes widened even more as he felt the pair of lips against his own. What was going on? He wanted to push the younger away, but Zelo had his arms now tightly wrapped around his neck, squirming out of the leader’s grasp on his wrists, and he pulled their faces closer together. Jun Hong started to move his own lips against Yong Guk’s unwilling ones – but he didn’t care, he wanted to taste the leader as much as he could – this might be the last time he could do it.

Yong Guk finally grabbed onto the younger’s waist and pushed him off him, making Zelo fall to the ground on his . The younger looked up at him with bubbly eyes, waiting for the complete rest of the rejection (as if the pushing away wasn’t enough).

“Oww…”

“Jun Hong… Y-You don’t realise what y-you’re doing.” The leader tried to explain to him, but mostly to himself as he ran his shaking hands through his hair. He kneeled down beside the boy, feeling even worse about hurting him. “Hyung’s don’t do that to each other – y-you’re too young to know what you want.”

Whatever he had to do, Yong Guk had to get it through to Zelo’s head that this was wrong on all levels.

“This is what I’m talking about! I’m not that young!” Jun Hong shouted loudly, tears still b his eyes, but his voice was powerful as he shouted at his hyung. Yong Guk sighed loudly.

“But you’re certainly confused!” the leader screamed back, grabbing onto the taller boy’s shoulders, and he began to shake them a little. “I don’t like you that way! And you don’t like me that way back!” After he shouted, he felt Zelo go limb and just fall back onto the floor, immediately worrying him. He leaned over the one who was now lying on his back with his eyes closed. “Jun Hong?” he shakingly whispered, nudging the younger a little.

“Yes, Yong Guk-ah?” he asked, his voice cracking a little, as if he could burst into tears any second – but his eyes didn’t open.

“Are you okay?” Yong Guk heard the maknae scoff sarcastically.

“Yes. Completely. My crush just completely rejected me to my face, so yeah, I’m fine.”

The leader felt a shiver of worry go through his body. Rejected? Bang Yong Guk obviously thought that the younger was only saying that because of raging hormones. But, the other seemed so – down about it. Like he meant it, and it just crushed him. Let’s be honest, even Yong Guk has been rejected by the person he liked before – it’s not a nice feeling. And to be the one, delivering that feeling to someone else – hurt way more. Especially if it was the pink-haired maknae.

“I-I… you’re way too young Jun Hong.” That was the only reason he could come up with to explain his rejection. But, he didn’t feel anything for the other. Did he? Yong Guk searched through his feelings but found none. No, no matter how much he wanted to make this okay, he just couldn’t return Zelo’s feelings. Jun Hong sat up and wiped the tears away from his eyes.

“I get it. You don’t think of me like that. So just please go.” He didn’t look at the leader, just down at his lap. Yong Guk had no idea what to say or do. But he left.

And as soon as Zelo watched his crush leave the room, his heart burst. Tears fell down his pale face as he clutched at his chest painfully. Loud sobs escaped from his throat as he crawled into a ball on the floor, letting all of his pain out. He knew, he knew Yong Guk didn’t like him back, but – he acted on the 1% chance that the other did.

He didn’t know if their relationship would ever be the same after this. Would Yong Guk still act like his favourite hyung? Still spoil him senseless? For some reason, Zelo doubted it. And if it didn’t stay the exact same – he knew it wouldn’t – Zelo probably wouldn’t have the courage or the mind to stay in the band anymore. He was already way younger than them, being only fifteen, it was hard that way. But this, this is going to make it so much worse. And he couldn’t help but cry more at that fact, that fact that is completely inevitable.

The next morning, all of B.A.P were already awake, except Zelo, and they were all seemingly munching on their breakfast quite peacefully. That is, except the leader, who spent all night awake, worrying over the maknae and how he was doing. It was his entire fault, but that doesn’t mean that he didn’t care about the other anymore. Of course he did.

“Where’s maknae?” Youngjae asked innocently, slurping on his cereal. Yong Guk looked up at him and sighed.

“Probably still in bed.” He explained, hoping that none of the other members thought something weird about it.

“Is he okay?” Daehyun chipped in, staring directly at the leader.

“Why?” he replied.

“I… think I heard him sobbing all night…” Daehyun confessed, a frown on his face as he spoke.

“He was crying?” Jongup was suddenly in the conversation, worrying about his younger hyung almost instantly. The other just nodded. “I’m going to go make sure he’s okay.” And before Yong Guk could stop the second maknae, he was already in Zelo’s room, ready to confront the younger.

As Jongup entered the silent room, he noticed that the said person was still asleep in the bed, covered entirely by his covers. The older chuckled a little as he moved up to softly nudge Zelo awake. When the maknae awoken, he blinked a couple of times as he noticed Jongup standing there.

“W-What do you want?” his voice was croaky, and it was clearly evident that he was up for a while sobbing.

“I wanted to know if you were okay silly.” He smiled at him, trying to cheer him up. The maknae just dug his face back into the pillow, groaning in response. “Tell me what made you stay up all night crying Jun Hong.” His voice was really soft, he tried using the nicest tactic possible to get through to the boy. The maknae suddenly sat up, looking at his band mate with blood shot eyes.

“You… really wanna know?” he asked, and immediately Jongup nodded in response. “Okay. First things first though. Do you think I’m that young that I don’t understand my own feelings?” To be honest, if he heard the other agree, he wasn’t going to say a word more. Because maybe, just maybe, this was all just a big misunderstanding.

“Zelo, you’re fifteen. You can sort your feelings out by yourself.”

And that was all it took for Zelo to complete breakdown in front of the other. Surprising Jongup, tears started to flow down the maknae’s face, as he shakingly got out his first sentence.

“I-I… done something bad last night.” He admitted, looking up at the other, but the look Jongup had own just told him to continue. “Yong Guk… he came in and started to say that I didn’t need to grow up so fast, and other things… and then…” he stopped as he remembered what happened after that. The tingly feeling reappeared on his lips as he fantasised about how soft the leader’s felt against his own – how good and right they felt.

“Let it out Jun Hong. I won’t judge.” And as that sentence came out of his mouth, Zelo confessed to his horrible deed.

“I k-kissed him…” And he waited for the reaction.

“…You kissed him?” Jongup’s voice was soft and quiet. Zelo nodded. “Right. How did the leader take it exactly?” he wondered, but he already knew the answer – otherwise Zelo wouldn’t have been crying the whole night. He knew Yong Guk rejected the maknae.

“Rejected me of course. What else? I’m just a stupid fifteen year old who has stupid feelings for my leader in the stupidest way possible. God, I’m so utterly stupid aren’t I?”

Jongup hated the way Zelo continuously called himself stupid. Because he wasn’t. No way in hell was the pink-haired boy stupid in the least. All he did was confess to the person he liked – something that not many people was able to do. Sure, he did it in a more… practicable way. But, he couldn’t stop the feeling of pity well up inside him for Zelo, and the feeling of hate for the leader.

“If anything, Jun Hong, you’re incredibly brave. And amazing.” He admitted, holding onto the younger’s shaking hand and squeezing it tightly. Zelo looked up at him worriedly.

“H-Huh?” he stuttered, not understanding what the other meant.

“I’d never have the courage to confess to the one I liked. But you did, you’re stronger than anyone else in this band Zelo. If Yong Guk can’t see that, then damn, he missed out on the best thing in his life that could ever happen to him.”

With that, the maknae pounced into the older’s arms, holding onto him tightly, sobbing into the others neck. Jongup chuckled and held the other in his embrace as he let the other cry.

“T-Thank you s-s-so much…” Zelo sobbed, smiling at him.

Both of them just continued to cuddle until the tears had stopped, and the maknae had once again fallen asleep. Jongup lay him down slowly on the bed again, pulling the covers over him and walking out. However, as soon as he was out of the room, the smile he had on his face changed to a frown as he remembered what had actually happened. Seemed like he had to have a talk with Mr. Leader.

Jongup rushed into the living room where everyone was situated. Eyeing the leader, he walked right over to him and suddenly slapped him across the face. Everyone turned silent. Bang Yong Guk looked up with angry eyes.

“What the was that for?!” he screamed, standing up from the couch and bumping chests with the second youngest. Jongup scoffed.

“Like you don’t know!” he shouted back at him, venom present in his voice. The leader chuckled sarcastically.

“If I freaking did, I wouldn’t be asking!” his face was going red with anger. Jongup chuckled darkly.

“You know very well WHY Jun Hong was up all night, CRYING!” and as he screamed that, Yong Guk’s defence fell down, and he was now filled with complete and utter guilt. The leader fell back onto the couch, head leaning against the cushion as he shut his eyes softly, trying to get the image of Zelo crying out of his head.

“…” he couldn’t reply – he didn’t know how to. Jongup scoffed again.

“Look, get over your freaking problems, and start worrying about HIM! He thinks we don’t care anymore, and that he’s too stupid to do anything! Get your freaking in there and COMFORT HIM!” With that said, Jongup rushed to his own room, getting away before he hit Yong Guk again accidently. Sure, he did it once, but he was pretty sure that if he tried that again, he’d get attacked one way or the other.

Yong Guk stalked into the maknae’s bedroom, but as soon as he stepped one foot in there, all the memories of the night before flashed before his eyes, and he blushed in embarrassment. He had really hurt the maknae – he just hoped there was still time to make it right. Walking over to the other, he repeated his actions on the previous night, and began the other under the covers softly.

“Jun Hong… are you awake?” he asked quietly. Receiving no answer, he nudged the other softly until he saw a head shake its way from the pillow to look up.

“Y-Yong Guk Hyung… what are you doing here?” Zelo whispered, not wanting to show the other how much he has indeed been crying over him.

“I came to apologise, and hopefully, fix our I-hope-not-broken relationship.” Explained softly, Yong Guk stared into the younger’s tear stained eyes. Zelo rubbed his eyes.

“Oh… you don’t need to do that…” he said, trying any way to get out of this dangerous situation he was in – just looking at his crush made his heart hurt way too much for a fifteen-year old.

“Of course I do. You’re really special to me – I don’t want our relationship to change… in any way…” Yong Guk felt the need to add the last part in, of course he wanted the other to feel better, but he wasn’t about to just fall to the maknae’s every need – he doesn’t like him like that. Zelo nodded, catching on to what the last part meant.

“O-Oh… Well, let’s just forget about everything then, and I promise, I’ll act like nothing happened.” The maknae said, managing to put on a small fake smile, hoping the leader took it. Yong Guk sighed in relief and wrapped his arms around the younger, holding him in a tight embrace. Zelo closed his eyes, and took in the older’s scent as he clutched onto Yong Guk’s shirt. His scent, his embrace – everything was so perfect to Zelo. But nothing was worth breaking up their relationship completely – as long as he was still able to have the leader as his hyung and close friend, then he’d give everything up for him.

“I really love you Zelo, you’re as much a part of my family as my real brother.” Yong Guk said, the pink hair softly. They broke apart and smiled at each other. “I’m glad we fixed this.”

“Me too hyung.”

As Yong Guk left the room, Zelo swore not to ever cry again because of him.

He should’ve known better than to confess to the leader, but at least there relationship was back to normal. Well, for Yong Guk at least. For now, he’s just going to have to try and move on.
