Best Friends Forever?

Description

Tiffany, Seohyun and Taeyeon were the best of friends. They were not the most popular girls in school but they did not care about what others think. In school, they were laughed at sometimes for being nerdy and all but they didn't care. They had one another and nothing else mattered.
However, that was before one of them changed and everything changed.

"She changed."

"Tell me... What is TTS without 'T'?"

"I miss the old times when we would hang out and laugh at everything together..."

Everyone changes as we all grow up and are presented with more choices.

Will the three girls be able to keep the faith going and keep to their promise of 'BFF forever' ?

Chapter 1: This is a sweet fic that exemplifies the value of true friendship. It illustrates the idea of fake friends and conforming to peer pressure. The beginning is off to a nice start showing the closeness of TTS's friendship bond. Those who don't accept the person's true self aren't real friends when they try to turn that person into someone they're not. It's also a lesson in learning that one's ideal/dream version of a person (how Tiffany views Sunggyu through rose-tinted glasses) is far from reality. That's the case when one doesn't really know the person well enough to see such a terrible flaw in his character. She was being delusional about Sunggyu for the duration of their short-lived relationship. This is what blinded her from seeing the truth of his player reputation. Seeing that with her very own eyes is needed for a reality check in realizing where she went wrong and what's loss in the process of gaining something (being with Sunggyu at the cost of their friendship). Tiffany finally realizing her mistake and reconciling with her friends showcases growth in her character. One missing scene is Tiffany reflecting on her feelings after witnessing what transpired between Sunggyu and another girl and then calling Taeyeon on her cellphone. Another missing scene would be Taeyeon approaching or going to Seohyun about Tiffany and having her come with her to find Tiffany. It's good that they found it in their heart to forgive her for deserting them. This shows that they haven't given up on her in hopes that she'd return to them. The love they have for her really runs deep for them to still believe in her after the hurt she'd caused them. Their reunion at the end with Tiffany returning to her normal self makes for a good resolution...along with Sunggyu getting his karma, which is symbolic of his scumminess when he's dirt low. Deep powerful bonds stand the test of time. It's nicely written how you use the ship as an allegory to illustrate your point about true friendship.

The plot turns out differently than what I initially imagined, but I don't find it a disappointment. It's good to experiment with another writing style in creating a different atmosphere for the characters. That makes for a refreshing read. Even though the emotions aren't expressed well enough for a profound impact, it works well for this fic where it's not meant to be taken too seriously. I think this works nicely as a fic that presents itself in a moral-of-the-story type of approach.

I only just found the time to read this although I came on every day.
Strangers to friends and back to strangers again.
This goes to show that true friends are for life. :)
Thou shalt not succumb to peer pressure and blindly follow others.
Haha! :D

@Rini6189:
Sometimes I find you really amazing, how you can put my thoughts into words so well (: !
I wanted to write on it because I had the strong feeling after separation with one of my good friends.
You are putting some pressure on me and I hope it would turn out fine and not too disappointing now... haha.
This may not really be touching because I didn't intend for it to be one :X
Thank you so much for the comment and anticipation, Rini.
I would try my best<3~
Will be updating some time later once I get things off my hands.

This can happen to even the best of friends. People can change over time because of situational influences. They tend to drift apart when they go solo to pursuit their own paths as opportunities open up to them. Going about fulfilling their potential would help them branch out and broaden their horizons. Everybody has their own dreams and goals that they want to fulfill in life. Separation of a group is inevitable. It is saddening to have to part ways someday. Though, it's not hopeless as long as friends manage to keep in touch with each other no matter where they are in life and keep each other close at heart. In a situation like this, the best thing to do is to give each other support in all that they choose to do with their lives. It wouldn't do them justice to keep them from their pursuits. The love that's taken time to develop can be strong enough to help them withstand the test of time. Love is a powerful force in enduring hardships. As long as they keep the faith, their bond will stand firm. If they truly believe in their friendship, they'd somehow find a way to reunite.

It is refreshing to see a fic about friendship. Not very many people write about something with family and friendship. This is a big part of life that's influential on our growth. Most of what we see on this site are romance fics, which is what the majority of the population here seems to be very interested in reading. It's good to see some variety.

I have a feeling that this would turn out beautifully. ^^ You do well on delievering emotions to the readers through your writing. This fic is a great opportunity for you to show that. There's no doubt that this would be a touching read.
