Just For Awhile More
Description
"Carry me out of our bedroom to the front door every morning. Just for a month. Then," she choked out, staring at the ground. "We part."
When her husband, Kwon Jiyong, asks for a divorce, Dara Park is not surprised. In fact, she's prepared a few requests of her own before they part...
Because when they do,
They will never be together again.
Foreword
"I want a divorce." Jiyong stated calmly, his tone even.
"Why?" Her voice shook with unshed tears.
He felt his heart weigh with regret. "You know why."
"Just tell me. Face to face. Tell me."
"I have already drafted the divorce agreement." He continued as if she hadn't spoken at all. "It shall be sent to you the next morning."
The woman before him stared back, not believing what was happening to her. Sure, things between them were going rather rough, but a divorce? When had things between them change so much? They were in love, had a child, and vowed to be together forever. Yet, here he was, filing for a divorce. If he thought she would accept his money and run off, he had another thing coming.
Besides... A lone tear slowly trickled down her face and splashed onto the ground. Unnoticed. Just like how she was to him now. It's not as if I have much time left...
"You can take it back. I don't want your goddamn money, or house, or car."
Jiyong pinched the bridge of his nose, exasperation slowly building up inside him. As much as I want to love her again, all I feel is pity. I feel sorry for wasting her time with me, but I no longer love her. "Don't make this difficult for both of us."
"It's her, isn't it." Dara bit out the name. "Sohee."
"Don't get her involved in this."
"Well, I don't want your stupid money, or house, or car! I just want you," tears flowed down her cheeks as she clutched his shirt. Wringing it in her hands. "Just you."
"I'm sorry." A sigh accompanied those two words. Hearing them, Dara's hands dropped to her sides as she looked away. "It's really over, huh."
"If I could do anything to make up to you, I would. I really w-"
"Carry me out of our bedroom to the front door every morning. Just for a month. Then," she choked out, staring at the ground. "We part."
Silence enveloped them as he mulled over her weird request.
"Fine."
