The meal with the boys and Eun Mi was a bit of an awkward situation to you. You have never really eaten with together with anyone for a long time, and eating with 5 handsome boys was extremely nerve racking.

It was painfully clear that people were watching you, wondering why you were even eating with them. They were all staring at you with pure disgust and you couldn’t help but shrink away from their stares. The only thing keeping you from leaving was Eun Mi’s firm hold on your hand.

“Unnie, why aren’t you eating?” She was staring at you curiously as she chewed on some of her food. You were pushing around the food on your plate, afraid to eat in front of Shinee.

“Yeah Ji-min, if you don’t like the food, you can order something you want instead.” Onew offered with a kind smile. You shook your head at him, refusing his offering but thanking him nonetheless for his kind offer.

“I’m not really that hungry Eun Mi.” You heard a girl to the left of you scoff at that answer.

“Not hungry? With that body of hers, I’m surprised she didn’t eat that little girl’s food too.” She laughed with her other friend. They continued to talk about you, completely uncaring that you could hear every hurtful words that they were saying.

You blushed in humiliation, and bit your lip as you stared down at your food. You were hoping none of the boys heard any of that. It was embarrassing enough to get that treatment, but having the Shinee see it in person would be mortifying. They have been the only people who have been decent to you and you didn’t want them to see this side of you.

Unfortunately, the boys heard the conversation between the two girls. The smile that was constantly present on Taemin’s face disappeared and was replaced with a menacing look. Key and Onew frowned as they heard all of the nasty things the girls were saying about you. They couldn’t help but be angry that the girls had the nerve to say all of that about someone they did not even know.

Jonghyun stopped eating and glared at the girls, so close to screaming at them while Minho clutched his fork, stopping himself from going over to the girls and cursing them out.

The two girls did not even notice that they had the attention of 5 very angry guys and just continued blabbing on, laughing and joking at your expense.

 Finally, Taemin had it with the girls and slammed his hands on the table. He turned to look at the girls with a scary look on his face.

“Want me to stuff that food in your mouth to shut you up. People like you who have nothing better to do than make fun of others should not even appear in public. People like you disgust me.” He sneered at the two girls and they stared wide eye up at him, frozen in place.

They were completely shocked that the sweet and innocent looking boy just talked to them like that. Jonghyun rolled his eyes as the girls did not move from their place.

“What? Are you girls stupid now too? Can’t you tell that he just said to leave?” The girls were shaken from their stupor and immediately stood up from the table, in a hurry to leave from the anger they felt being given to them by the boys.

“Stupid meanie heads. I’m glad they left.” Eun Mi stuck out her tongue in the direction that the girls left at.

“Aish I can’t stand people like those.” Onew added as he resumed eating.

“Don’t pay attention to people like them Ji-min, they are obviously just horrible people who have nothing better to do.” Key smiled at you and you couldn’t help but smile, completely taken back by their kindness. No one had ever stood up for you like that because they usually joined in making fun of you. They were all too scared to stand up for you, afraid that if they did, they would also get made fun of, so they choose the best option and joined along.

“Thank you.” You whispered, and gave them a huge smile, completely grateful.

“Wah look at that! Ji-min finally smiled at us! Doesn’t she look so pretty?” Taemin said excitedly. The scary look was completely gone from his face and the usually smile was firmly in place again. It was the first time you lifted your head to stare at them. During the whole time you were with them, you usually looked at the ground or only looked at Eun Mi.  

You blushed at that, as you heard the other boys looking and complimenting you as well.

“You definitely need to smile more often Ji-min!” Key added. “Now eat and don’t pay attention to whatever people are saying about you.” He took a piece of his food and put it on your plate.

“You should try mine, it tastes amazing.” You smiled up at him and gratefully took a bite of it.

“Wow this is amazing!” Key smiled at you, happy to hear that you liked the food he gave.

“Try mine too! Try mine. It’s delicious!” Taemin took a big heaping spoonful of his food and placed it on your plate, looking at you expectantly. You couldn’t turn him down and tasted his too.

“Yummy right? It’s delicious right? Better than Key-hyungs food?” He asked excitedly, wanting you to pick which one you liked better. You couldn’t help but laugh at him; he was so cute as he eagerly waited for your opinion.

“They’re both really good.” You answered truthfully. He pouted, disappointed that you didn’t pick his food as better.

“Ji-min will definitely like mine better.” Onew took a piece of his food and placed it on your plate, waiting for you to try it as well. Before you knew it, Jonghyun and Minho joined as well, adding some of their own food to your plate. It became as some sort of a competition for the boys, trying to make you pick their food as the better tasting you. You were laughing along with them and their antics, completely enjoying yourself.

 In the end though, you couldn’t pick which food was the best, because they all tasted really good to you.

“Aw Ji-min, why didn’t you pick mine. I thought we were friends.” Taemin pouted at you and gave you the puppy dog look. You looked guiltily at him, feeling bad.

“I’m so sorry! I thought yours was really good. Everyone’s was good.” You said hurriedly, worried that you were going to offend them.

Key bonked Taemin on the head. “Yah, don’t make Ji-min worried over nothing.” Taemin rubbed his head and looked apologetically at you.

“Don’t mind him. He’s being a little baby. He just like winning at everything.” Onew said to you. You nodded you head at him, relieved that you didn’t do anything wrong.

“You should start getting used to Taemin’s ways or he’s going to have you wrapped around his little fingers.” Jonghyun advised you.

“Yup. You can’t give in to that look of his, or else he’ll keep doing it to get his way.” Key added.

“Yah! Why are you making me seem like the bad guy in front of Ji-min!” Taemin protested to his hyungs, as they all just poked fun at him, and you couldn’t help but laugh. You could see how close they were with the way that they can freely joke around.

“Do you want more of my food?” You turned to look at who said that and saw Minho. You were a bit shocked because this was the first time that he spoke directly to you.

“Oh, um no thank you. It was delicious but I’m really full.” He just nodded his head and took back the food he was offering you.

You felt bad at that, but you couldn’t help it because you really were full and couldn’t eat another bite.

“Would you like to try some of mine?” You asked shyly, pushing your plate in his direction. He turned to you and gave you a little smile.

“Sure.” He took some of your food and ate it. “Wow, this is really good.” He got the attention of the four other boys as they stopped arguing with each other.

“Hey, how come you didn’t offer me some Ji-min?” Taemin looked at you hopefully. You blushed and apologized.

“Oh here he goes again.” Jonghyun said.

You pushed your plate in Taemin’s direction and he cheered.

“You guys can all try mine too.” Everyone took your suggestion and tried your food. Throughout your whole interaction with the boys, Eun Mi was quietly eating her own food, a smile on her face.
