Believe in You

It’s been a week since that incident with Kyuhyun and it’s been hell. School, normally bearable with the help of Kyuhyun, has now turned into a torture house. Not only were they now making fun of your weight, but they were making fun of your interactions with Kyuhyun. They were making up stories, trying to make Kyuhyun the angel and you, the horrible person.

You sighed as you walked out of the convenience store holding your snacks. There was not much you could do but take all of the bullying. You only had a half a year left of school, and it would be impractical to move to a different highschool for the little amount of time. They best you had to do to was to become invisible, continue on with your studies and focus on it instead of the people trying to bring you down.

You were about to open your popsicle when you heard crying. You looked for the source and found a little girl sitting by herself on a bench. She had her face in her hands and was sobbing loudly. She looked helpless. You bit your lip, trying to decide if it was a good idea for you to help.

*She might now even want a fattie like me to help her.* You though glumly to yourself. You were indecisive on whether it was a good idea to go up to her. You didn’t know if you will frighten her and make her cry even more. But a few more seconds of hearing her continue to cry; you couldn’t take it anymore and started to walk to her. You hated hearing children cry and a painful clenching in your heart always appeared when you see tears on a little kid’s face.

You approached her slowly, looking around to see if anyway else was around willing to help her. But no one seemed to be paying attention to little crying girl and they were all engrossed in their own little world.

You sat down beside the girl, immediately informing her of your presence. She looked up and you saw tears steadily falling down her face.

“Hey what’s wrong?” You said softly, afraid that if you talked too loudly, you would frighten her and cause her to cry more.

She hiccupped through her tears and wiped away the tears on her face.

“I-hiccup-I can’t find my oppas!” She wailed at that and you couldn’t help but feel a little flustered.

“Hey there, stop your tears. Don’t worry, unnie here will help you look for them.” She gave her a small smile, wishing that she would stop her tears.

She sniffled a little and looked at you. “You will?” She asked in a small frightened voice. You nodded your head and smiled when her tears finally dried up at the hope you presented her.

You took a tissue from your bag and wiped away the remainder of the tears on her face.

“My name is Ji-min. What’s your name?” You wiped her hands that was sticky with her tears and waited for her reply.

“My name is Eun Mi.” She said softly.

“Alright Eun Mi! Tell unnie what happened so I can help you out and find your oppas in no time.” She told you the story of how she came with her brother and his friends to the park. The five were playing basketball, and she was in the playground playing with the little kids. She saw a butterfly and was following it, trying her best to catch it and show her oppas what she caught, but before she knew it, she was far from the park and lost.

Tears started to appear in her eyes again as she thought about it. “What if I never find them again unnie? I don’t want that! I want my oppa!” She was feeling hysterical at the thought of not seeing her most important brother.

“I’m sure you’re oppas are looking for you right now. Let’s go back to the park and see if they are there alright?” She sniffled and nodded at you, stopping her tears before they could fall down again.

You smiled at her as she stood up from the bench. “Alrighty, let’s go little Eun Mi.” You took her small hand in your and started to walk towards the direction of the park.

You remembered that you bought some popsicles and took the bag from your hand. You stopped walking and bent down to get on eye level with Eun Mi.

“I just remembered I have some popsicles! Would you like to share one with me? It’s strawberry flavored.” Her face immediately brightened at that and you couldn’t help but think how adorable she looked when she smiled. She eagerly nodded and you chuckled at her excitement.

You reached into your bag and took out the popsicle. The one you bought was the one with two sticks in it, meant specifically to be shared.

“Here you go.” You broke them apart and gave the other half to her. She eagerly took it and started to happily eat.

You took her other hand and started to walk again in the direction of the park. After a few minutes, you found the park and looked around, trying to find 5 boys. Only seeing little children playing, you decided to find a bench to sit on and wait for her brothers.

“What does your brother look like?” You asked Eun Mi as you lead her to the bench. You sat down ans she immediately followed, still a bit preoccupied in eating her popsicle.

“He’s really handsome and has brown eyes and brown hair.” She stated matter of factly. You couldn’t help but chuckle. It was the vaguest description and it definitely won’t help you spot who she was talking about.

After a few moments of silence, she finally finished her popsicle. You bit the last piece of yours off and looked at her. She furrowed her eyebrows and frowned.

“Unnie, what if we can’t find them?” She asked in a small voice. You patted her head and gave her a bright smile.

“We will definitely find them. Don’t worry about that. You have unnie here to help you so you definitely will find your oppas again!” You said to her encouragingly.

She smiled at that and you both sat back in the bench, waiting for her oppas to come. A few minutes past and there was still no signs of her brothers. You sighed and looked at Eun Mi.

She looked worried, anxiously looking around and waiting for her oppas. You suddenly thought of an idea to take her mind off of her worries and the wait for them.

“Want me to push you in the swings?” She turned to you and shyly nodded. You just smiled down at her and jumped up off of the bench. You held out your hand to her and pulled her up.

“Let’s go play while we wait for your oppas to come back.”

~~~~~~~
After about 15 minutes of playing around on the playground, you hear someone shouting. You turned to look to locate the source of the noise when you heard a squeal coming from Eun Mi. She immediately jumped down from the swing and started running in the direction of five boys. They were all running towards her as well, one of them running faster than the others. He immediately picked Eun Mi up and hugged her to him. The other four guys finally reached and gave Eun Mi a small hug as well.
*Well, I guess those are her oppas.* You smiled, happy that Eun Mi smiling and laughing.
You turned around and started to walk away, ready to head back home. You only took a couple to steps before you heard your name being called.
“Ji-min unnie! Unnie! Wait, where are you going?” You turned around and saw Eun Mi running towards you.
You stopped and squatted down to her level. “You found your brothers right?” She happy nodded her head.
“Remember not to chase butterflies and get lost again okay? It’s dangerous for a little girl to get lost.” You patted her head when she nodded at you.
“Alright. Unnie is going to go now. Remember you’re promise to unnie that you will be more careful okay?”
“I will unnie.” You stood up and came eye to eye with a five extremely handsome guys. You blushed and looked away, wanting to escape as fast as possible. Before they noticed how big you were and started making fun of you as well.
“Thank you so much for you help.” You blushed even harder and nodded you head, ready to bolt away as fast as possible.
You felt a small hand grab yours as you took a step back. You looked down and saw Eun Mi gripping your hand and looking up at you with tears in her eyes.
“Do you really have to go now?” She asked in a small voice.
“Yeah stay, we have to properly thank the person who helped our little Eun Mi out.” One of the handsome guys said. He stepped forward and gave you a bright smile.
“I’m Key by the way.”
You looked at his outstretched hand for a few seconds, before pulling up your courage to shake it.
“I’m Park Ji-min.”
“Nice to meet you Ji-min.” His smile turned bigger when he saw that you got redder.
Another boy bounced towards you and held out his hand with a friendly smile on his face. You shyly looked up and couldn’t help but think how handsome he looked, they all were.
“My name’s Taemin! Thank you for helping our little mischievous Eun Mi.” You shook his hand lighty, but he tightened his hold on your hand and gave you a proper handshake.
“My name’s Onew. We can’t possible say how grateful we are to you.” He also shook your hand in greeting with a friendly smile on his face.
*Why are they so nice to me?* You thought, bewildered that they haven’t started name calling you yet.
“I’m Minho.” You looked up at the guy who said that and couldn’t help but feel a little intimidated. He was super tall and didn’t have a smile on his face like the others.
“And I’m Jonghyun. I’m Eun Mi’s brother. I really am in debt to you for taking care of her and helping her back here.”
“It was nothing. You don’t owe me anything. Eun Mi was a pleasure to take care off. Well, I better head off now. It was nice to meet you all.” You bowed to them and smiled at Eun Mi one last time, eager to leave the presence of the five handsome boys. You were uncomfortable in situations like these and no matter how much you liked Eun Mi and wanted to still play with her; you were intimidated by the five boys.
*I need to leave fast. They might be nice now, but they will eventually start to make fun of me and I need to leave before that happens.*
“Wait, let us at least treat you as a thanks. I know an awesome place to get food.” You frowned at that.
*Of course they would offer me food. What better way to reward a fat girl that to offer her some food.*
“Yeah unnie! Please. I don’t want you to leave me yet.” You looked at the pleading eyes of Eun Mi and was close to breaking down and saying yes.
“Come on Ji-min. I know you will definitely love this place!” Taemin placed his arm around you and started to walk you to the direction of the restaurant. You stiffened in his hold. No one ever touched you. Everyone in school was afraid that you would pass you fatness to them.
Eun Mi took one of your hands and smiled brightly at you. Conversation started to flow between the boys and slowly you relaxed in Taemin’s hold.
You didn’t notice the small smile that appeared on you face as you continued to hold Eun Mi’s hand and walk with the five boys.
