Description
They live in a world where each word has a price tag.
So the idea is not mine, I took it from a child book I read some time ago and that really stuck into my head. it's set in an imaginary world in which there is a big scary factory that produces words and people have to buy the words they want to say. More common the word is the more it costs.

The Word Factory is huge, dark and scary, Chanyeol thought while holding his mother's hand as they crossed the square. He was five and had never in his life said a word.
