“Jiyeon ah.” Joon called to me, the familiar goofy grin on his face. I could only roll my eyes at this, as he sat down in the booth seat across from me. “Let me guess. You didn’t split your pants during a 
performance this time.” I told him dryly. His expression didn’t falter for a second, even smiling wider now, which was starting to freak me out. “Even better!” He said, smacking his hand down on the table for emphasis. I just looked at him dead on. “Hyuna’s back.” He said smugly, stealing a few fries from 
my basket, and munching away. As he leaned back against the cushioned booth seat, I felt a rush of coldness rush over me. I didn’t exactly know Hyuna personally, but I know that she did leave Joon 
hanging at a vulnerable time in his life. I tried to keep my voice level as I replied. “That is news. So did she say why she took off with some bar tender at your sister’s wedding?” I asked, my voice clipping.
Now he looked like he’d been slapped across the face from my words. I sighed, adding ketchup to the fries basket. “I’m sorry. I’m sure she had a reason.” I replied. He nodded, and a half smile formed on 
his face again, as he grabbed my wrist, startling me slightly. “Come on.” He said leading me out of the booth. I quickly threw a couple of bills on the table, as he pulled me out of the diner, the door chiming
happily as we exited. “Where are we going?” I asked, thrown off by his behavior. Our shoes shuffled against the gravel of the parking lot, as he led his way to his Civic. “Meet Hyuna. It’s not every day
she comes back and I get to introduce my best friend to her.” He explained, pulling open the passenger door for me. The cold rushed over me again, a giant wrecking ball forming in my abdomen.
“Right.” I said shortly, as he closed the door, getting into the driver’s side.
