For the first time in nearly six months, the Great Hall was filled with chatter and laughter. For the past hour, the workers of Camp Diamond, both old and new, had been filing into the spacious building. The chairs had been pushed into the center of the room facing the stage. On the stage stood Park Jungsoo, or better known as Leeteuk, as he smiled watching his fellow workers getting along so well. The previous years had proven to be stressful as anger and resentment caused tension amongst the workers, to the point where fights and arguments would break out on a nearly daily basis. Leeteuk only hoped that this year would be different, wanting his first year as Camp Director to go as smoothly as possible.

Finally, 12:00 p.m. had arrived, and the meeting was to commence. Leeteuk stood from his seat coughing to gain the crowd’s attention as the chatter slowly stopped. Once it did he smiled, his trademark dimple appearing. This was it, his first time addressing the staff as it’s leader had come. Leeteuk would be lying if he said he wasn’t nervous, but was filled with nothing but happiness for his new responsibilities. Though young, Leeteuk was confident in his abilities. He coughed lightly once more before speaking.

“Welcome everyone! I’m so happy to be here with you all once again. First, I would like to thank everyone I have worked with these past few years. Working amongst you all as a fellow counselor has been an amazing experience, one that I will never forget. I know that everyone is hurting after it was announced a few months ago that Yang Hyunsuk-ssi had stepped down from his position as Director of Camp Diamond.” A few murmurs of agreement were heard from the crowd as Leeteuk paused for a moment, taking a moment to grieve himself before continuing. “However, I hope that I may gain the help and support from all of you that was given to Yang Hyunsuk-ssi in the past. Though they are big shoes to fill, I know that with everyone’s help I will be able to make Yang Hyunsuk-ssi proud as the new Director of Camp Diamond.”

Cheers immediately rose up from the crowd. Leeteuk had always been a well-liked counselor, by both the other workers and the campers. The staff knew that no one else could have been able to replace Yang Hyunsuk, nor would they have wanted anyone else, other than Leeteuk. The smile on his face had only grown bigger with the response he had been given.

Leeteuk made to speak, gesturing the crowd into silence once again. “Now, let’s get on to business. Camp Diamond is opening its gates once more in just one week and there is plenty of work to be done.” Groans filled the room. This was the least fun part of working at the camp, in the opinion of most. “All the buildings need to be cleaned, the grass needs to be cut, and all appliances must be in working order. If they are not, they will need to be fixed or have new ones ordered. The pavement on the basketball court needs to be replaced, and I’m sure you’ve all seen the sorry state the right-most dock on the lake is in.” Snickers quickly replaced the groans. During the final days of camp last year, a group of campers had smashed their paddleboats into the dock as they were trying to play boat-Marco Polo. As no one was hurt, the scene was hilarious to those who had witnessed it and had become a funny story to tell.

Grinning slightly, Leeteuk merely continued on. “Let’s all start this year with smiles on our faces and happiness in our hearts, and hopefully finish it like that as well. We need to make this year at Camp Diamond one that no one will forget. Now, let’s get to work, we only have one week left!” Leeteuk finished off his speech with a clap of his hands, proceeding to give everyone specific orders on what to do.

The chatter that now filled the Great Hall was louder than before as the workers were filled with motivation. Not even the grouchy counselors or someone’s enemy could bring anyone’s mood down. Everyone wanted to make this year better than the last. Leeteuk and the rest of the staff could only hope that this year’s campers would want the same.

I'm probably going to post a few more teasers. However, they'll all be in the point of view of the workers.

So basically, y'all will get a look on some of the people that work at the camp, what they do, and a bit of their personalities. The history of the camp and how it works will be slightly revealed, as well.
