Why did I decide to do this so fast? I barely knew a word of Korean but I still decided I wanted to come to Korea so bad and couldn’t wait till I knew more words besides Annyeonghaseyo, Saranghaeyo, Kamsahamnida, Mianhe, Aniyo, Ne, Michyeoss-eo, Ppalli, Babo all the family members and counting from 1-20. Sure, I had transferred to a college here in Seoul and was taking classes and specifically Korean 101, but being out in the city where it was hard to find your way around if you didn’t know the streets or Korean.

‘Which is why I am so lost now. I don’t even know how to get back to the school.’

I was to busy looking around that I didn’t notice a group of people I was about to walk right into and neither did they until it was to late and I had already collided with them and was on my .

“Mianhamnida, I didn’t see you and…”

“Mwo?” one of the asked with spiky short brown hair with blonde at the tips.

“I‘m sorry I ran into you I am lost and don’t know much Korean.” And then it dong

“Uh…Mianhamnida. Wait..SHINee.”

“Ne. Dangsin-eun uliga simjieo migug-ui gyeog-u aseyo?” the deep voice from the black hair boy, who I recognized as Minho, asked.

‘That would mean the one with the spiky short brown hair with blonde at the tips is Jonghyun.’

“Huh?” I probably looked so confused right now to them, which I was. I was lost, and didn’t even know how to get back to the school or anywhere.

“Dangsin-eun yeong-elolman al su issseubnikka?”

“Uhh…Mwo?”

‘Ah…this isn’t working…’

“Do you not know Korean good?”

I looked up at them and noticed the Mankae was the one who spoke. I thought it was Key who could speak in English and possibly Onew.

“Yeah, I know general words. And counting…” I sighed and looked down, embarrassed beyond belief.

“Ah I see. And even if you know us already well be polite,” Taemin whispered something to the others in Korean but I wasn’t paying close enough attention to hear what or if I understood anything.

“I am Lee Taemin, the Mankae,” he said while smiling. All of them were smiling but I for some reason liked Onew’s smile the best, so sincere and gentle.

“I am Kim Kibum, also the Almighty Key,” Key introduced with a big, almost showing how big his ego/pride was, smile. I couldn’t help but chuckle some.

“Uh…I am Choi Minho.” Minho was unsure of himself speaking in English so he hesitated some, worried to start.

“I am Kim Jonghyun.” I smiled at him, he was confident but I could tell he was like Minho and was unsure of speaking in English.

“And I am the leader, Lee Jinki, but call me Onew.”

Oh my god his smile was so amazing, it made me remember why he was my bias in SHINee.

“Annyeonghaseyo. I’m Nicole Liane. I am from America.”

“Annyeong, Ulineun bichnaneun SHINeeibnida.” SHINee said together.

“Are you lost?” Onew asked her, finally using his English even if he had a hard time understanding it at times.

“Hehe…uh yeah. Its embarrassing.”

“Mwo?” Jonghyun asked, having a hard time with the word and Minho to but he just stood there.

“Geunyeoneun geugeos-I Jonghyunleul danghoghage malhaessda.” Key clarified for them this time.

“Mianhamnida but…could one of you help me find my way back to my school?”

“Sure. Jonghyun, Minho and Key all have a schedule they have to go to but Taemin and I don’t so we could help you,” Onew offered with a big smile.

Onew’s POV

I was happy that I knew most of what she asked then because she was really pretty and what I said was true, Taemin and I had no more schedules for the day so we could help her.

‘She’s so cute, no she’s beautiful. I like her, she’s not like other fans where they freak out. And she is so shy. Why do I feel immediately attracted to her? Please say yes to our offer.’

“N-ne. Kamsahamnida.”

Taemin and I smiled at her, happy to be able to help her since she was so kind. Everyone instantly liked her right away, she was different and unique.

“Key-hyung, Jonghyun-hyung and Minho-hyung, gaseo iljeong-e gago geuleohji anh-eumyeon dangsin-eun neij-eul geobnida. Ulineun Nicole-ege geunyeoui bangbeob-eul dasi pyosihal su issseubnida,” Taemin told them and they just nodded and said goodbye to us and Nicole and went to the van for their next schedule on TV.

Taemin turned to Nicole and asked, “Ok ready?”

“Ne.”

I smiled, she was blushing slightly, probably from the embarasment of the situation and that she had to ask idols for help.

As we started walking, I asked her, “What is your school’s name?”

“Seoul Institute of the Arts.”

“What really? Jonghyun went there!” I was shocked to say the least, this girl was going there? Why? Was she going to be a singer or dancer?

“Really? I never knew that. that’s pretty cool.”

The school wasn’t far from where we were but the streets we confusing so it was easy to get lost at times and losing your bearings while lost here wasn’t fun either.

“Why are you there for Nicole-noona?”

She looked at Taemin, blushing for no reason but it kinda made me…jealous?

“Please don’t use honorifics its…its embarrassing. I even told my students not to, too.”

“Ok then Nicole-ah” I said with a smile on my face as she shot me an annoyed look and that it was a blush from embarrassment.

“Hey in my defense so I can live, its not a honorific.”

“Touché Onew-hyung.”

“Hyung? Touché?”

“Yeah your older than me. I’m actually younger than everyone other than Taemin. I am…uh…ok I am 20 in America. And touché means that you have a good point there.”

“So your 21 in Korea. You are younger than All the hyungs. So I am your dongsaeng,” he said with a smile. He liked her a lot too, but I assume as a noona since he called himself her dongsaeng.

I had a million things going through my mind now, all about Nicole too.

‘So she is younger than me…but I like her but I’ve always said I always wanted to be with a noona. Eh things can change. And everyone in the group likes her, so I hope we do get to see her a lot more in some way. Maybe exchange numbers with Taemin and I so we can get to see her. I know I would like that a lot. But what did she mean by students? Is she a student teacher of something or what? And still…how did she get into the Seoul Institute of the Arts and for what?’

“Ah but for your original question Taemin, I am there for art.”

“Yeah its and art school but what kind of art? Music? Dance?”

She laughed at him and I thought and realized what she meant. “Taemin, she means art as in she is an artist you silly mankae pabo.” I said with a joking smile at Taemin so he wouldn’t be hurt.

His eyes went wide and mouth hung open. “No way!”

“Ne. I also got accepted into the Korea National University of Arts but I decided against it.”

“Mwo??” this time both of us stopped on our tracks to stare at her, me for many reasons but mostly because of what she said.

“That‘s impossible.”

“Wae?”

“I’ve never heard of a person to get accepted to both schools before. I would have to ask Jonghyun but I think no one has.”

“Oh.”

After that we started walking and nearing the school, with us pointing out so good food stands near the school and local stores for supplies and clothes, since he luggage still hadn’t arrived and her roommate was nice enough to let her borrow some of her clothes.

“Hahaha you know, its good Key isn’t here. He would be like, ‘Aniyo! You cant borrow clothes you need your own fashion!’ And then take you shopping.”

“Thank god. I hate shopping for clothes.”

“Don’t tell Key-hyung then.” Taemin joked. For once I was so glad that Taemin and I had learned English too because this was so worth the hard and annoying pain in the work.

“Nicole-ah?”

Nicole turned and looked at Taemin, “Mwo?”

“I was wondering, you said it a while ago but, you said you had students. What do you mean?”

“In America I worked at a pool and taught little kids…”

“Uli Nicole seonsaengnim, salanghanda!” Taemin and I said in child like voices causing her to crack up at our antics.

“And luckily I got tranfered to a pool here in Seoul so ill be teaching kids again.”

“So you love kids? Like Taemin here.”

“Hey Hyung!”

She cracked up but I noticed we were now in front of Seoul Institute of the Arts, meaning she would have to leave now and so would we.

“Oh…looks like we are here already…”

“Huh? Oh we are. Well I guess I better let you two get back to Jonghyun, Minho and Key. Kamsahamnida for helping me and Mianhamnida for running into you guys,” I bowed at me last few words, showing respect and how grateful I was.

“Hey don’t worry about it we actually took a liking to you.” Oh my god did I just say that? I had Taemin look at me with this face I cant even describe and Nicole blushing some.

“Nicole-ah? Is it ok if Onew and I have your number so we can stay in contact?” Nicole gave Taemin a confused look so he thought she didn’t want to. “A-aniyo if you don’t want to it ok. I was just…” he said fast until Nicole stopped him.

“Aniyo Taemin. I was just confused and shocked as to why 2 idols would ant my number that’s all. I will be happy to give it to you.”

And luckily sh did and we were both happy and gave he a hug.

“Annyeong Nicole-ah!” Taemin waved happily waved at her then ran ahead of me while I said my goodbye.

“It was great meeting you, Nicole. Your defiantly the kind of girl I have never seen before,” she blushed and that just made me smile my trademark genuine smile, “Hopefully you’ll take us up on our offers to come visit us.”

“I will Onew,” Nicole said just as she received a text but didn’t look at it right now and Taemin ran back to us as Nicole said bye and started walking to the school, but I had one last question and shouted at her, “Nicole! Who is your favorite member in SHINee?!”

I could tell she was shocked as she turned around to us and then statring walking backwards, laughing slightly.

I laughed at her actions, “Hey Nicole-ah who?!”

She turned around then turned back and shouted, “You Onew!!” and took off to the campus leaving me shocked, face heating up.

“Hyung, lets go. Im sure we‘;; see her soon,” he said with a smiled as he started to pull on my arm.

“Ne.”
