I’m at Lotte World’s Magical Island waiting for my best friend to arrive. I feel queasy and yet I’m trembling at the same time. I keep on practicing; repeating what my hyungs told me, coached me all over again. I’m going to confess my feelings to her and I’m afraid that she might reject me or make fun of me. Thinking of those possibilities makes me melt in shame and fear. I surely can’t stand that. Well, I’m being used that girls would do things to get my attention and swarm over me but this best friend of mine is really different. I even don’t know what she did to me. I feel like being bewitched with her charms, so it really means I’m not immune with her fatal charms after all! And then I remember how my Alexander hyung describe love to me.

“You’ll never know that you’re in love when you won’t lose that person, Dongho. Sometimes Love really works in mysterious ways. At one time, you’re friends with her but the next time you wake up? You’re in love with her. You can’t resist Love coz you know why? It will find its own little way to your heart.”

Aish! Alexander hyung was right all along. Love had already struck me through Irish. She was just my best friend! My one and only best friend where I could tell her every details of my life without getting fussy or ashamed but now? Argh! We practically grew up together, went to the same school but chosen different careers. If I’m in a boy band called U-KISS well, she’s conquering the modeling world alright. She’s tall, pretty, charming, and elegant and she got the most beautiful brown eyes that I’ve ever seen. Good thing Alexander hyung doesn’t like young girl or else….I’m already dead meat. I glanced at my watch again and she’s already forty five minutes late! Being a type B, I certainly hate to wait but with this girl, I’m willing to wait until forever.

“Dongho Shin!”

I almost jumped in surprise after hearing a girl’s voice call my name. I turn around and saw her coming.

“Irish Park, you’re late again!” I scold her just how her father scold her.

She giggled and said, “Dongho, do you have to do that? It doesn’t suit you.” And giggled again. How could she laugh like that? It brings music to my ears! So enchanting! “We’re here to enjoy right?” she asked.

“H-huh? A-ahm… Y-yeah. W-were here to enjoy and let’s start our day.” I said and grabbed her hands.

“So… where are we going?” she asked and smiled showing her perfect set of milky white teeth. Gah! Should she smile like that? She’s melting me! And I can’t help not to look into her eyes; it was so full of emotions just like… love?

“What ya’ staring at?”

“Irish…” I called out.

“What?”

“Had I ever told you that you got the prettiest face in the world?”

“No.”

“Had I ever told you that you got the loveliest brown eyes that I’ve ever seen?”

“No.”

“Had I ever told you that you got the most perfect smile and it always melts me?”

“No.” and she giggled.

“Had I ever told you that when you laugh you’re enchanting me?”

“Certainly No.”

“Had I ever told you that you the iest body to die for?”

“What are you talking Dongho? The answer is still “No.””

“Had I ever told you that you’re the only one who could make me wait for more than thirty minutes?”

“I didn’t mean to make you wait.”

“Had I ever told you that you’re the only one who could make me feel so good about myself?”

“It’s because I’m your best friend that’s why.” She said and I can sense a trace of bitterness in her voice.

“Had I ever told you that I love you not as my best friend, but a girl whom I could… love?”

Irish smirked and look at me. “Are you making fun of me?”

“No and I want you to know that I love to have you as my girl. I don’t care a bit if it will took me a lifetime in courting you because I’m really willing to do everything to prove you that I love you so much. No one else but only you.” I answered.

 She looked at me and said, “Had I ever told you that you got the cutest eye smile that I ever see?”

I was puzzled with her question and answered, “No.”

“Had I ever told you that you’re the most talented among the boys?”

“No.”

“Had I ever told you that I always love your aegyos?”

No.”

“Had I ever told you that you’re handsome?”

“No.”

“Had I ever told you that I was dying to hear it from your lips that you love me too?”

With a smile in my face I answered, “No.”

“Had I ever told you that I always love you since grade school?”

“No. And now I will never ever let you go, Irish. Naega Jeongmal saranghe. (I love you very much.)”

“Nado dangsineul saranghe, Dongho.”

And with that I sealed our love with a kiss. She’s not my best friend anymore coz I found the girl that I am going to spend my whole life with in her.
