He lay helpless on the cold asphalt; sprawled almost like a lifeless doll on the ground. The impact was gruesome, so terrible that it shook the whole area the moment a loud thud was heard. Everyone stopped on their tracks and there was silence, which didn’t last long as whispers of confusion and worry started to fill the air. Curious as they were, people began to gather around the scene. And there at the center of the commotion was him, using the remaining of his strength to fight death.
He was at the brink of unconsciousness; and what kept him from turning in was this voice he knew very well.
“Oppa~ oh my gosh…please hold on! You hear me? I’m here.”
Yes, he heard her clearly. It made him a little less tensed knowing she was beside him but at the same time, hearing her agonizing voice brought him more pain. Every cry that entered his ears pierced right through his heart, shattering it into pieces. His broken bones, burning cuts, and even his struggled breathing were nothing compared to what he was feeling inside. It was more excruciating to bear than the physical pain he was experiencing at the moment.
‘Don’t worry, my love, I won’t leave you…I promise.’
He knew he had all the reasons in the world to be by her side.
