“I-I’m first?” a young Kwon Boa stuttered out in total disbelief.

“Top of the Oricon,” her manager nodded and beamed proudly, “Congratulations,--”

The budding artist let out a squeal and attacked the manager in a hug. “Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you--”

“Why are you thanking me?” the manager winked. “You’re first only because of what you’ve done alone. They love you and your music.”

“It’s too surreal though,” Boa breathed. “I didn’t deserve this.”

“No, you didn’t deserve it. You were destined for it.”

The artist laughed as her manager continued, “I knew there was something special when I saw you. A great artist like you only comes along once in a while, you know.”

“And the opportunity of joining SM is a chance of a lifetime, right?”

“Yes, yes, it is.”

“So the day I said yes was a really good thing, right?” Boa was unable to suppress her growing grin.

“Yes, it was,” the manager smiled. “Now, come on; don’t you want to tell your parents and friends the good news?”
