He ran.  Through the darkness he ran.  His heart was racing.  His breathing grew heavy.  Blood dripped with each step.  And yet, he knew he could not stop.  They were right on his trail.  He could hear them in the wind.

He struggled on.  His legs grew weary.  He forced himself to continue until his legs could carry him no longer.

He collapsed to the ground.  The immense pain was taking its toll on him.  The only thing left to do was to wait.  They would be here soon.  And death would be imminent.

Maybe it was better this way.  There was nowhere left for him to go.

He closed his eyes, waiting for the end to come.  Instead he felt strong arms encircling him, pulling him into a warm embrace.  He felt safe and protected.  Tears flowed from his eyes.

"Sunggyu," he whispered.

For a brief moment he was happy.

Until he was brought back to the harsh reality when he felt the cold steel plunge into his stomach.
