A Million Love Songs

Description

It had been two years since Jina had last heard from her first love, Dongwoo. Ever since the day he left, they had both moved on to bigger and better things. That meant erasing each other from their lives. But when Dongwoo and his friends come back home for vacation, he finds out that he still gets the same feeling when they had first fell in love with each other.

"Looking to the future now
This is what I see,
A million chances pass me by,
A million chances to hold you.

Take me back, take me back,
To where I used to be
And hide away from all my truth,
Through the light I see

A million love songs later

And here I am trying to tell you that I care.."

Foreword

The sound of buzzing from the people's murmurs was spread throughout the busy airport. Many businessmen were walking swiftly with their briefcases to their terminal, parents with their kids playing around the waiting area, and relatives crying as they watch their loved one leave and on to the gate.

Inside of gate 27, a girl and her seven best guy friends were all clumped up in one spot. The girl sat quietly with her legs crossed and her back straight, her fingers interlocked with someone else's. They were all silent.

"Jina," a voice finally called. "Jina."

The girl looked to her back to see who had been calling her name. A boy with black, spiked up hair who's face kind of resembled a hamster, faced her. "Nae, Sunggyu?" she asked.

"Our plane leaves in ten minutes," he replied, rubbing his neck nervously. "Say your goodbyes now."

Jina sighed heavily, and stood up to prepare herself., She carefully brushed her skirt away from leftover food crumbs. Each one of the boys stood up in one single file line to bid farewell for a long time to their best friend.

The first one up was a sixteen year old boy. He was a little bit scrawny, and he had this feminine side that he could pass as a pretty girl. Jina extended her arms, waiting for the boy to come into her arms for a big hug. "Bye, Sungjong," she whispered. "Stay good for me, ah? Or else I'll have one of your hyungs scold you."

The boy laughed. "Okay, noona. I will."

The next one was someone who resembled Sungjong a little but taller. Way taller. He had a jet black bowl cut, and he was wearing a plain pullover sweatshirt. Jina gave him a hug. "Goodbye, Yeollie," she said. "I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too, Nana," he replied as he smiled. She giggled and ruffled his hair before he left.

A few minutes had passed, and there was still one person who she hadn't said goodbye to. That one boy is the only one that kills her every time she reminds herself that he's going to be gone for a long time. He's going to be out in the world, performing and meeting new people.. meeting new girls.

Their eyes had met and her emotions suddenly became uncontrollable. "Jina.." the boy with the spiked up dirty blonde hair said softly. She tried to restrain herself from sobbing, but when she heard him say her name, the tears were uncontrollably falling down. She ran up to the boy and gave him the biggest and warmest. "Dongwoo…" she trembled. "Dongwoo oppa…" Her tears were seeping down his cotton shirt.

Dongwoo caressed her hair gently, and moved his hands to hold her small waist. He used his shirt to wipe the tears that couldn't stop falling. He looked deep into her eyes, and leaned in for their last kiss. "I promise you that when I get back, we'll be together again."

And those were his last words before he went on a plane, and left to start his tour.
