Chapter two – in the school.

I woke up the next morning due to the nonstop beeping of my cellphone. Groaning and annoyed, I took the phone and checked the time.

6.56am.

School doesn’t start until seven forty five. Trying to sleep more, I put the phone under my pillow but then the alarm clock began sounding.

What was it with these things and beeping?!

Turning the alarm clock off, I sat up in my bed and checked my phone.

23 new messages.

Gosh, don’t people sleep these days?

When I checked all of them, most of them were about some new students who were coming to school. Reading them, a slow smile spread on my face.

What are they like? It’s obviously not just Baekho and Minhyun in that house. There was a shout with the name ‘Aron’. What is he like? Who shouted ‘Aron’? How many are actually there? Would they be like that in school too?

The questions circling in my mind made me excited to no limit. If they were troublemakers, going to school would definitely become worthwhile.

I hurried into the bathroom to shower quickly. Today was going to be fun.

“Yuri-ah!” my best friend, Dong Mihi shouted as I walked in the gates. As usual, she began tugging my sleeve and clinging onto my arm.

“Okay, I’ll listen. You sent me more than fifteen messages this morning, what’s the deal?” I asked, laughing.

“There are new students in the school! I saw them. Not even wearing the uniform correctly.” She said, her eyes widening at each word. I tried to help it, but I couldn’t. I laughed.

“What? Why are you laughing?” Mihi pouted.

“No, it’s nothing. You just looked really cute just now.” I said and pinched her cheeks before beginning to walk.

“But, you know, they’re pretty hot.” Mihi added.

“Are they now?” I asked, teasingly.

“Well, I know only one of their names. There’s this hot girl looking like guy. Blonde hair.Bangs. I heard them call him Ren.” She said.

“Ren?”

“Ren.”

I smiled at her. Ren, huh? I guess I didn’t meet him.

“And then there’s the leader, JR. I don’t know his real name either.”

So there’s five of them..

“School’s going to change, big time.” I muttered.

I was barely able to hear Mihi mutter ‘You said it’.

I was surprised when I walked into the practice room after school that day. Baekho, Minhyun and three other guys were dancing passionately in there with the music blazing.

The first one to notice anything was a blonde boy with his hair tied behind him. I guessed he was Ren.

He stopped dancing and turned around. His eyes widened big time when he saw me.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!” he screamed. I didn’t know why, I also screamed.

He screamed again and I also screamed. The others turned around to see us screaming.

Baekho broke into fits of laughter while, Minhyun began tickling Ren. The other two shook their head with a short smile of each’s face.

“Why were you screaming, Yuri-ssi?”Baekho asked.

“I was scared.” I answered, blinking but not even flinching.

“Of what? Baby Ren or us?” another one asked.

“Screaming.”

“Screaming? You were afraid of screaming?” Baekho echoed.

I nodded.

The three exchanged glances and shook their heads as if expressing how stupid I was.

“Don’t worry. We won’t bite.” The one who spoke before said.

Baekho came and grabbed my hand.

“Guys, this is Yuri. Our probably only friend in Gel In.”Baekho said.

“Um..annyeong?” I said, waving my free hand a little.

“Yuri-ssi, you already know Minhyun, the one who you screamed with is Ren. His birth name is Minki, though.” He said and let go of my hand to grab Ren’s hair.

“Ah! Ho!! Dongho-ah!!!” he shouted.

“He looks like a girl so that’s remember-able.”

“I know.” I said, with a little laugh.

“You do? You’re a stalker, right?” Ren asked, looking at me accusingly. I shook my head and raised my hands in defense.

“Moving on,” Baekho declared loudly to get my attention. “Our leader Jonghyun, or JR as we call him and our hyungAron.”

“Anneyonghaseyo.” I smiled with a bow.

“You sure she’s different?” Aron asked Baekho.

“Don’t worry hyung, she’s different. She came with muffins after all.” Minhyun spoke up.

“Ah! Did you eat them?” I asked, quickly.

“I liked them.” JR said at once. “Can you make more?”

“My omma made them. But I can try once.” I said, trying to be as polite as I could.

For moments, we stood there having nothing to talk about.

“Aish, this is once crazy school…” Ren started, groaning and scratching the back of his head furiously.

“I know.” I whined and fell onto the floor. “Perfect grades, perfect discipline, perfect everything! Can I just die instead?” I had no idea I why I was telling them that, but whining like that felt good.

I caught a small smile tugging up the corners of Minhyun’s lips. I couldn’t help but notice how cute his lips were. Among all of them, I loved his and Ren’s lips. But Ren’s lips were different. They were more…childish. More like those of a kid. As for Minhyun, his gave off a mature feeling…

Don’t get me wrong, it’s just that I have a habit of looking at people’s lips when they talked. But this time, it started with a smile. Lips were my weakness in men. Along with having an addictive voice.

“I didn’t imagine you rebelling to something like this. You don’t seem that type.” JR said.

“Uh huh.” I said, wagging my finger at him. “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” I grinned.

JR’s smirk turned into a chuckle.

“Why do you put on such a cover, then? As if you love this place.”Baekho asked.

“Um, hello? Do you not hear people in the school? My brother is Nam Woohyun, hallyu idol and my mother is the founder and CEO of NM Ent. As for my father, he was the CEO of the NAM Corp. Right now, it’s inherited by my uncle. And my aunt is one of SNSD’s managers.” I explained.

“Looks to me that you’re bragging.”Minhyun spoke up.

“Looks to me as if I’m stating a fact.” I said at once.

“You don’t like to lose a word, do you?”

“You also seem as if you don’t.”

We would have carried on the verbal fight but Baekho began clapping.

“First girl to ever hold up a conversation with him. I should congratulate you.” Baekho said then threw an arm around Minhyun’s shoulder. “Right Hyun?”

Minhyun just rolled his eyes.

“Uh, but don’t tell anyone that I said such stuff about…my family and school. They don’t like to hear anything unless its compliments.” I said, hurriedly.

“Your secret is safe with us.” Aron said.

“Ah, Aron-ssi, you’re older, right? I should call you sunbae..” I asked.

“Call us oppa. If Baekho says you’re good enough to be accepted by him, that means you’re accepted by all of us.” Aron said.

“Uh, I’d thank you hyung, but that’s supposed to be my line. I’m the leader.” JR said and punched Aron’s arm. Aron made a childish face at him and JR made one back.

“What is it with the leader thing?” I asked, obviously confused.

“We’re a gang.” Ren said, beaming. Like literally. His face was glowing.

“Gang?” I echoed.

“Gang. Jonghyunnie is the leader.” Ren said, nodding his head. I couldn’t help but notice how cute he looked.

“Aish! You rascal, call me hyung! I’m the leader for NU’EST’s sake!” JR cried before lunging at Ren.

“Nu..NU’EST?” I asked.

“That’s our name. We’re the main, the others are in other schools.” Baekho explained.

“Are…are you guys dangerous?” I asked, actually hesitating.

“Don’t be afraid, we aren’t violent when we don’t want to be.” Baekho said with a chuckle, feeling my hesitance. “We’re actually normal if we don’t have mental problems when we aren’t being all scary.”

“I don’t have mental problems.” Minhyun said, arrogantly.

“Well, you have arrogance to replace that.” I shot at him.

This time, what he did really surprised me. He looked into my eyes for s split second then turned away and chuckled. “You’re really something.” He said.

I didn’t really get him. Sure, he seemed the most normal among the five but was the most arrogant one.

“I was saying before I was very rudely interrupted, we’re sort of normal. Normal boys with filthy rich parents to change schools whenever we get kicked out for getting rid of the bullies with normal dreams.” Baekho said.

“What are your dreams?” I asked, getting interested.

“To debut. As NU’EST.” JR and Ren said, breaking up their fight, at once.

I smiled at them. I liked them already.

see that? ^ above? through out the whole chapter, i kept using Japanese suffixes instead of Korean. i get them mixed up!

baekho said that nu'est there in the main. meaning, the five of them were the main members or the leaders of nu'est. it's like a huge gang divided into branches. it gets complicated, the underground stuff and all so i won't be feeding you boring non-relevant info. the point is, JR is the leader of the leaders of nu'est. but no other idols are going to be 'minor members' of nu'est. just maybe oc or maybe none, so don't worry.

so this is where the whole story starts. the first impression always counts right? it's sort of cliche, the way minhyun and yuri acts. also childish. but i like those stuff. and as much as most readers hates to admit, childish fighting between the two mians make the story cute. i know i used to deny that.
