Chapter 8
Little Time

Dara stared at her dad sitting up on the bed. His face was pale and needed much color and his hands were shakey as he called her over.

"Appa..." She muttered leaning on the floor beside his bed.

"Seeing you like this..." He began. "I know that I have protected you all well enough."

"Appa, don't start the drama..." Durami joked, but her face was sullen.

Their father chuckled lightly. "Arasso. I'll stop the drama now."

"Can you three leave me and your father alone for a while?" Their mom had asked.

Dara stood up from the floor and led her younger siblings out the room and into the lobby of the second floor.

"Appa had told me Sanghyun will be the one to replace him." Durami had stated plopping herself down on one of the couches.

"Noona! Don't kid like that!" Sanghyun whined.

"Waeyo? It's true." She defended.

Dara watched her two younger siblings bicker. In this case, what Durami said is true. Since Sanghyun is the only boy in the family then he will be the one to replace their father's throne in the mob. After all, their dad does consider it a "family business". She pondered the thought for a moment thinking things through. If that was the case then their father would surely want them to stick here in Busan and never return to the academy ever again.

"What's his case Durami?" She asked finally speaking up.

Durami and Sanghyun stopped bickering and turned to their oldest sister.

"He has stage 3 leukemia. Doctor said he had at least 2 more months." She replied.

Of course she knew that much. Their father had taken her back first when she graduated from high school because she was found out. She actually cut communication with her other siblings and mother just to keep on the safe track. Durami was home schooled after the whole ordeal.

Sanghyun's eyes widened. "That little!?"

Durami nodded her head.

The air became silent and still.

The Park siblings just sat there with no motion and sound at all. They were all contemplating the situation they were probably in right now.

Dara suddenly stood up from her seat a little too abruptly.

"Unnie, where are you going?" Durami asked following her older sister with wary eyes.

"To get some fresh air." She replied.

Dara made her way to the end of a hall that led her to a balcony. She went there directly and inhaled the clean air of Busan.

From a distance she could see another big house as big as theirs. She could also see a balcony, but it was obvious that it was a room balcony due to the size of it.

Unbeknownst to her that that balcony is the balcony of the room where Kwon Jiyong lay flat on his bed, facing the ceiling of his room tinking of a way to tell Dara of his own secret.
