The film industry is a small world but it’s tough to get in. Winter Kim’s existence is a proof that no matter how much impact you have for the people, kung wala kang connections, wala kang mararating.

Mahirap maging introvert sa mundo ng pag-a-artista dahil kahit anong mangyari, kailangan mo talagang makipag-socialize at um-attend ng mga social events that can potentially help you build connections and later on continue working towards the fame that every actors aim for.

Winter thought her filmography is an enough proof that she has that something para matambakan ng film scripts sa bahay niya. Na may karapatan siyang pumili ng next project niya at may karapatan na umayaw sa mga roles na in-o-offer sa kanya.

Well, Winter has that kind of freedom naman. But she got limited resources.

She receives around five scripts a month but none of them is something that would catch her interest or she thought would be worth it.

You see, she wanted to have a diverse filmography that her fans will never predict which role she will have next.

But 80% of the projects she keeps on receiving has huge similarities to the role that changed the trajectory of her career.

Tumanggap na siya once but it didn’t really have quite the attention compared to that role, kaya hindi na umulit si Winter. Her fans always thought she’s having an hiatus na thankfully, her manager shaped her somehow to have that impression sa mga tao na mahilig mag-explore ng mga iba’t ibang bagay kung kaya’t anu-ano ang mga nakikita nilang ginagawa niya. But the truth?

Winter was craving for the stress of getting into character, memorizing lines, mag-struggle umiyak on cue, the chaos that happens in set.

The day finally came, Winter finally chose a new project, at sobrang sigurado siyang her fans will never predict this one.

“So, this is the scene kung saan sinamahan ni Lori si Sachi na magpasukat ng damit para sa kasal ng parents niyo.” The director started briefing them, pointing the two as she mentions the names of their characters. “Yung sibling kind of awkwardness please paki-tandaan. Bawal kaming kiligin sa inyo!” she reminded the two.

“Direk naman kasi, sino bang nagsulat ng script?” Winter’s manager, Mikha, asked. “Sinong magkapatid ang magsasabihan ng kahit ano naman babagay sayo, sach, eh. Maganda ka pa rin naman kahit anong suotin mo?!”

“Nilalagyan mo lang ng meaning, Miks!” sagot ng direktor atsaka binaling ang tingin sa dalawa. “Hindi niyo na-pe-perfect ‘to noong scriptreading, pero may tiwala ako sa inyong dalawa. Let’s make this work, okay?”
