Lovelost Elegy Chapter 20: Beats and Lines

“I always go here during breaks. Beautiful isn’t it?” Yuri said with a smile.

Aoi nodded. She didn’t know how to respond to his smile.

“You better do well, Yura. I would cheer for you.” He said and left.

Aoi was alone in the veranda. Yuri’s words can’t leave her ears. He actually talked to her kindly. She didn’t know that two people were listening in their conversation. They silently crept up to her and surprised her from behind. Aoi was startled but she was relieved that it was only Tsukiya and Tsukasa. They were smiling at her in a suspicious way that it scares her.

“What are those smiles for?” She asked.

“You’re getting along well with him, aren’t you? They asked in unison.

She blushed at their question and the just laughed. Tsukiya patted her flushed cheeks.

“Don’t worry about it, Aoi-chan. You’re not alone. He has a lot of admirers.” She said.

She was about to protest when Yuto called to them. Aoi could feel her flushed cheeks as she remembered what Yuri told her, and what he looked like.

“I can’t believe that the brat could actually act like a gentleman...” Aoi muttered to herself and sighed.

The crowd of fans could be heard cheering for AiMai. The stage is already ready for the event. The lights are set-up, illuminating the whole area. Aoi is already dressed in a costume similar to her band mates but each of them has unique touches on their clothes. Their hairs were already fixed and styled. It’s almost time for the three to go out. Yuto and Yuri smiled at her. Yuri mouthed to her “Good Luck”. She nodded. Ryosuke gave her a curt nod. They went out and the cheers of the crowd became louder and louder. She stayed on the backstage easing herself. She must do her best. The music started and the three started performing the song “Beat Line”.

The cheers of the crowd boomed. The three were already dancing. Aoi could hear their voices but she focused listening on one voice, Chinen Yuri’s. She couldn’t make out why she’s acting like that towards him. Aoi focused herself to become Yura.
