“It's a divorce contract.”

The Significance of One

Ri In woke up to the sun shining in from the windows. She was used to waking up with Junsu's arm over her waist but not today. Junsu was nowhere to be found. Ri In stifled a yawn and got off the bed in her pyjamas. Even though it was childish of her wearing a pyjama at this age, she still wore it.

Ri In turned her head around and was met with a sticky-note on her bedroom draw.

“What's this?” mumbled Ri In to herself.

“Get ready and meet me downstairs, Ri In. I'll be waiting, Junsu,” Ri In read aloud.

Ri In flinched at the harsh message but decided to ignore the harsh tone and happily got dressed, thinking that it was a surprise for her.

After getting ready, Ri In hurried downstairs only to meet with no one but another sticky-note. She had a really sick feeling that something good wasn’t going to happen.

Curious, Ri In walked forward to retrieve it.

“I tricked you! Eat breakfast, get ready and I'll meet upstairs in our bedroom,” Ri In, once again, read aloud.

Ri In smiled because the tone in this note was happier and more cheerful but she still could not shake off the nauseous feeling she had in her stomach.

Ri In, ignoring the feeling again, skipped to the dining room and was met with breakfast; bacon and eggs. She smiled and sat down, eating. It was a normal routine for her to wake up with Junsu's breakfast set up ready for her or either it was her breakfast waiting for Junsu.

Soon, Ri In was finished with the meal and skipped upstairs, unaware of what she will meet with. She arrived at the door of the room, hesitating on whether to knock or not.

“Come in.”

Ri In jumped. She was expecting Junsu's voice. She didn't even knock. Ri In looked around and noticed a little device hanging off the edge of the house but didn't look into it, only acknowledging it through her side vision. She knew that, when she looked into it, she would be discovered that she had noticed it. But one thing that was catching her attention the most was why it was there. It was a noticeably piece of high technology development.

Ri In opened the door slowly, gripping onto the door handle. She was met with Junsu, sitting in his tux, on the lounge they had in their room.

“Junsu, what did you want to talk about?” Ri In broke the silence after she entered.

“Sit down,” instructed Junsu.

Obediently, Ri In sat down on the chair opposite Junsu and placed her hands on her laps. She looked expectantly at Junsu. Though she did notice a black folder on the glass table in front of her with a pen beside it.

“What's this, Junsu?” asked Ri In, curious.

“It's a divorce contract,” answered Junsu.

Silence filled the room, Ri In's heart rejecting the pain, making herself think it's all a joke.

“Wha-what? What are you talking about, Junsu?” Ri In managed to stutter.

“Just sign it,” Junsu said.

“But...why?” Ri In's voice came out as a whisper.

“It'll be good for us both.”

Ri In couldn't take it.

“What are you talking about, Junsu?! What about all that time we've been together, passing all those remorseful days together?! Now, you're just going to throw it away? All that time?!” exploded Ri In, tears streaming down, wetting her face.

Ri In grabbed the contract and threw it on the floor and slammed her hand onto the glass table, smashing it.

“Ri In! Are you crazy?! What did you do that for?!” exclaimed Junsu as he rushed towards Ri In, examining her hand.

Ri In yanked her hand away, casting her glance downwards. She continued to cry, placing her bloody hands on the floor to support herself, shoulders shaking. Every single tear that was splattering to hurt Junsu.

Junsu embraced the struggling frame of Ri In, holding her to himself. He rested her head on his chest.

“I'm sorry, Ri In, I'm sorry. Can you please just sign it? I'll assure you won't regret it. Ri In, I have a reason,” Junsu begged, making Ri In look at up him.

Junsu used his thumbs to wipe off Ri In's tears, kissing her forehead gently.

“Ri In, I'll be waiting for you at the rooftop of our company at seven.”

Junsu slowly stood up, Ri In's grip on his arm loosening.

“No, Junsu, don't go,” pleaded Ri In, gripping Junsu's arms in vain.

Junsu's tux was covered with blood from Ri In's bleeding hand.

“Ri In, don't forget to be late!” said Junsu in a choking voice and left before he could stop himself.

He wanted to surprise Ri In with something special and with that thoughy, he smiled and closed the door of the room behind him.

Ri In continued weeping like a heap on the floor. She had seen Junsu's smile, Junsu's genuine smile, and was hurt by the assuming that the reason he was smiling was because of divorcing her.

Ri In stood up and stumbled her way to the bathroom, her blood dripping everywhere.

Ri In emerged from the bathroom after cleaning herself up. Ri In hesitantly looked at the floor and was met with the divorce. She swallowed her tears and picked it up, trembling. She flipped opened it reluctantly and was faced with Junsu's signature already on it. Ri In couldn't stop the tear that escaped her eyes and landed on the piece of paper, staining it.

“Junsu...why are you doing this to me?” whispered Ri In, picking up the pen.

Ri In rested the pen at the area she was suppose to sign. Without thinking, she let the pen swipe across the contract, moving in the motion of her signature and what was to be done was done.

Junsu and Ri In were...

no longer husband and wife.

No strings tied.

Ri In let herself lean back onto the sofa, burying her hands together, crying her heart out.

“It's all my fault. It's all my fault. If only I could be a better wife for Junsu, meet his every needs. It's all my fault!” Ri In blamed herself and welled into tears once again.

FINALLY! I decided to update. Sorry, guys, I was a bit too lazy. I didn't get too many comments this time round did I? Never mind though. Oh, I like the chapter!

Comment replies before I forget:

zunkies: Sorry, I really don't have the time right now. Also, I'm writing the sequel. I can't really balance two things at the same time. That's me.

913_aNg3l: I would help you dig a grave and shove that person in. Actually, it was hard choosing the between two people on who would I make evil. But I chose. That person has more of an affect on SuYin than the other person. That is so me, isn't it? It will be kind of obvious on why I chose that person once he/she is revealed. Haha, about the bullet... HIGH FIVE! I finally met someone like me. I really don't mind at all on who Yoochun, JaeJoong, Changmin and Yunho are paired up with, just not with LiYin. HANDS OFF! I don't really mind YunJae or something but I just don't read , even if I try to. I tried once...but it didn't work at all. It was YunJae too. In het, I would usually see JaeJoong with BoA or Yeonhee, Yoochun with BoA, Changmin with no one(poor Changmin) and Yunho with Seul Gi. Ah, Sungmin is my bias in Super Junior but I don't like him as much as him(the person I like). You seem to always  successfully convince me to stay. You have some kind of mystical powers, don't you? *looks accusingly* But my studies, I don't know. There may be a lot next year so not a lot of time here on AFF. But of course, my stories will stay as they will. Unless they run away. ;D

guiwang_4ever: Of course, you were one of them. But of course, Han Geng. His smartness. You REALLY want a love story of your own? I'll make you a one-shot if I have the time. Bit busy so no promises. So, with who? What should I call you by?

Patzmelody: Ahaha, I'm a bit too lazy to do something like that. Perhaps more drama in the sequel? It took quite some time to actually progress this story so I couldn't be bothered. ^^

JINNY_boo: NO! Ri In's susu. You keep fighting and I'll stop updating! I'll leave you hanging on the last chapter. *laughs evilly*

serenesmile: Ah, I hoped it would be. But how about this chapter? A bit more evil and bitter? LOL.

Alzina: Ah, now everyone's saying he should suffer. Yep, little dolphin will finally show his feelings. FINALLY! F I N A L L Y! Um...about Taeyeon. Perhaps she would appear in the sequel?

THANKS GUYS! For all the comments. I have to say, the sequel's chapters are a bit random in length. One is one thousand words and the other is 2,364 words. Just random, too random.

Of course, I won't forget about the polls:

Ah, see ya guys!
