Why Call Me
Hwayoung tapped her nails on the counter as the phone line rang. She let out a sigh at the third ring, half expecting the other line to go to voicemail.
"Hello?"
"Is this Siwoo-ssi?" Hwayoung's voice came out softer than normal. "It's Jung Hwayoung, we went to high school together?"
The was a pause on the line, as if the man on the other end was contemplating the situation. "I remember you. Is there something I can help you with?"
Hwayoung took a breath. "I want to start a gaming company and produce the first all female pro e-sports team. I heard you're in the market to build a business no one's ever seen before. Maybe we can help one another."
There was a sigh on the other end of the phone. "Hwayoung-ah, we haven't seen one another since we graduated. Why call me?"
Hwayoung paused, contemplating her answer. "I'd rather work with someone I know, who won't take advantage of the talent I'm willing to find. I remember you to be an upstanding gentleman."
This seemed to find favor with the man on the other line. "Are you back in Seoul?"
"I am," her response came immediately. "I arrived back from Beijing a week ago."
"Meet me at Moon Table at COEX tonight. 7pm sharp. If you have a business plan, bring it with you.

Siwoo looked at his watch. He was early, but he'd expected Hwayoung to be early, as well. It was very telling about a persons business abilities when you looked at their personality and promptliness. As if his thoughts summoned her, a lean woman dressed in a black coat and sunglasses was shown to the table he was currently sitting at. He moved to stand, fixing his suit jacket in the process.
"Siwoo-ah, no need to be so formal," Hwayoung teased softly, pulling off her sunglasses. She was just as beautiful as he remembered.
He stared at her for a second before collecting his thoughts, smiling kindly. "Please, have a seat, Hwayoung-ah."
"Am I late?" She checked her watch before giving him a knowing smile. She took her chair and slipped into with a grace she didn't have back in high school.
Siwoo his lips as he returned to his seat. "No,Β you're right on time. Thank you for meeting me. I felt like this was a conversation we should have in person rather than the phone. Bad business to talk ventures on the phone."
She gave him a shrewd, teasing smile. "And here I thought you just wanted to see me."
Siwoo chuckled and called the waiter over. "Please order whatever you'd like, I'll be covering tonight."
"I was the one who called you, if anyone should pay it's me."
He raised an eyebrow at the woman across from me. "How about we make a deal. If I decide to invest in your business plan, you can get the next meal."
"Deal."
He watched as she slid a file across the table. "Should we get started?"
