I walked towards the familiar dojang. My surroundings comforted me and all the stress just seemed to fade away. I heard the familiar sounds of the bo being swung and the Kyosanim uttering instructions. It made me feel so nostalgic.

I remember there was a time when I was the star student in the dojang, where I was unbeatable. I had left, thinking my position would remain the same. When I walked back in, I realized how wrong I was.

Everyone was standing in a circle as I walked in. Everyone stared with a sense of awe I was used to, at you. You stood in the centre of the circle, holding the Bo and across you stood the Kyosanim holding a Bo as well. This was rare, no one sparred the Kyosanim unless of course he was the star student. But then…you…you were a SHE!

As I entered, everybody stopped and looked up. Some girls giggled and squealed. Some boys looked at me in surprise, respect and a tiny bit of jealousy. The Kyosanim ran over and greeted me, remembering me as his ex-student. More nostalgia, more talks about the past.

You looked at me across the dojang with a little bit of resentment. I had just stopped you midway through a sparring session and you weren’t pleased. You went aside and practiced on your own. My eyes followed you unwillingly. Gracefu
