Back where it all began
My Rich BoyfriendTaemin POV
The day I was to meet the man who had embarrassed me back then was not exactly fun.
To be precise, seeing Baekhyun again after all these years only would rank sixth on the list of the worst things that would happen to me today.
Not that I had wished for worse things to happen to forget this reunion, but fate must be particularly amused with me today.
In fifth place of the worst things for today is my reflection in the mirror. But more the fact that I want to look good. Baekhyun isn't even into men and yet I want to show him that I have become a handsome man.
A successful man. A man who didn't care about what happened back then. But this man also moved away from his small home village for exactly this reason, so as never to be reminded of it again.
Doesn't speak well for the courage of this man.
And that is also visible on my face. I am pale - but not in the way of innocent little Snow White, but rather a cut-down version of Pennywise the Clown. If the author of this fan fiction didn't read so much Stephen King, I might have found happiness long ago, but life isn't a wishful thinking game - especially not mine. (Damn you author!)
"What's the worst that can happen?" Minho asks me when he sees how sad I look in my reflection after the car has come to a halt.
I don't know? Baekhyun's a millionaire, maybe he's still damn good looking? All the demons of hell arise to earth?
But instead of answering, I just sigh loudly.
He stands next to me and I hear a loud vibration.
"What? I can't meet your ex unshaved, can I?" He says to me as I look confused at the electric razor in his hand.
"Tae, we don't even know if we're going to find him. I mean how are we supposed to know where he is right now? And besides, who says he's the same as he used to be?" Kai tries to cheer me up and puts his hand on my shoulder.
But I don't have time to regain my composure.
"He's at the cinema." Jinki says casually.
"You know his personal schedule?" I ask, trying to sound amused.
"No, just his work schedule." Explains Jinki, holding out his mobile phone to me.
"Work schedule?" I ask irritated and Jinki merely nods.
Baekhyun used to work at the cinema to earn some extra pocket money while he was at school. Is he the owner of the cinema now?
"And he has a break in twenty minutes." Says Jinki.
"Well then! Let's go to the cinema!" roars Minho full of verve.
"There are certainly bigger mirrors in the bathroom there than this one." He puts the razor in his pocket and goes ahead, albeit in the wrong direction, but at least with a lot of enthusiasm.
"I mean what am I supposed to say?" I ask my friends, meanwhile we are getting closer and closer to the cinema complex.
"You confront him!" Minho says, clenching his fists.
"You say, 'Hey buddy! You take the video down or else..."
"Or else what?" I ask, looking for help. I'm not really intimidating. I should have brought Aeg and Yo with me.
"I don't know, it's best to do it right on the spur of the moment." Minho suggests with a smile.
We stop in front of the front door.
"Hey." Minho takes my hands into his.
"I bet you'll find the right words. And you'll feel better afterwards. There's nothing like giving a hater a piece of your mind!" he says lovingly and I can't help but feel a bit of nervousness fall from my shoulders.
"But I want to be there when you tear him to shreds." He says as he opens the door.
"Hey you!" he yells at a worker whose back is turned to us.
"I'll make sure the guy gets this Baekhyun and I'll shave in the meantime, okay?" he wiggles the razor around in his hand.
The worker turns and walks towards us.
And before I can say anything Minho shoots towards him.
And then the fourth-worst point of the day happens:
Everything occurs in slow motion before my eyes. It doesn't last more than a minute, but the minute feels longer than watching all the Lord of the Rings parts in their extended version.
Minho stumbles over his own feet but manages to hold on to the worker. But while stumbling, Minho must have hit the on/off button of the razor.
Only the vibration of the razor can be heard. All eyes are on Minho who is lying in Baekhyun's arms.
"Isn't that Choi Minho?" I hear around us, then the whispering gets louder and one mobile phone camera after another is pointed at us.
"I get most of the clicks, I got the whole spectacle on video." Kai chuckles next to me.
"Oh man, thanks, that could have gone wrong." Expresses Minho's gratitude to Baekhyun.
"Hey cool haircut you have." Minho says to him.
"So I'm looking for someone who works here." Minho doesn't stop talking, he is not even paying attention to the people around us.
"Do you know a guy named Baekhyun by any chance?" he asks him.
Baekhyun can't get a word out. Slowly his hand goes up to the top of his head.
"Yes I know, I, the great Choi Minho stand before you and talk to you. We can take a photo later if you like. But now please go get this Baekhyun."
Baekhyun's mouth stands open, but no words come out of him. He puts his hand on his head and finds a clean-shaven bald spot in the middle of his scalp.
"Parlez-vous français?" Minho asks him.
I turn vigorously to Jinki.
"Minho speaks French?" I ask, flabbergasted.
"Minho can speak seven languages in total." He tells me as if it were the most normal thing in the world.
Point number three on my scale of worst things is that I have now destroyed Minho's career.
As soon as the video of Minho shaving Baekhyun's hair off is online, his career will be over for sure. I don't even want to imagine all the headlines.
'A hairy affair'
'Not only bald on, but also in his head'
'S(h)ave yourself from Choi Minho!'
I can already see them all.
"Do you hear me?" Minho claps his hands loudly twice in front of Baekhyun's nose and the latter startles slightly.
I can't believe I'm doing this, but I take a few steps towards the two of them.
"Minho." I take him by the arm and pull him back a little.
"Hey." I greet Baekhyun quietly after all these years. Uncertainly, our eyes meet.
"Hey." He says, taking a deep breath.
For a long time we both say nothing.
Baekhyun and I sit in the break room for the staff of the cinema.
"I'm sorry about your hair." I say slowly.
He grabs onto his
