She took her usual seat by the window and stared out of the window: a bright and sunny day. The lush green trees surrounding the campus made her feel claustrophobic, all she wants to do is to get out of this ‘prison’ which her guardians lovingly placed her in, under the flimsy excuse of her safety – as if she couldn’t deal with things on her own. She twirled her pencil around, listening to the drone of her teacher in the background as her mind meander off to her mission a few weeks ago.

“Cover me,” her brother whispered to her to which she nodded, signaling her acknowledgement. Glancing upwards, she checked the area before signaling her brother to go ahead. The moment he moved, she stood up and poised herself for any signs from their attackers, taking a sweeping look in the room again, she saw her brother nodding to her in the corner of her eye.

Just when she was about to move from her spot, a shuffle can be heard on her right where she instinctively turned and fired a few shots at the source: crates. Gunshots resonated around the room together with a cry of pain as she ducked for shelter beside her brother. Her brother motioned for her to move in order to corner their attacker while she tried to regulate her breathing; there is too much dust swirling around the room.

“Amber, DongHae, we got the things that we came for. Get out immediately,” a command was heard on the other line of the receiver as the duo shot each other a knowing look. Preparing for their quick escape, DongHae fired at the shelves and crates behind them rapidly to distract their attackers as they move swiftly out of the room.

Rejoining her brothers-- Hyun Joong and Kibum-- down the corridor, she saw her eldest brother flash a small black chip in his hand at them before keeping the chip in a casing while they made their way out of the place. “Good job everyone, let’s make our grand escape right now.” Hyun Joong praised as they nodded.

She loved every mission she is on, the exhalation that rush through her veins when they succeed. Similarly, her brothers enjoyed the whole process, it was like a game to them, one that is planned by Hyun Joong to perfection, played out by the rest in an equally synchronized manner. A smile made its way to her face as the school bell rang, bringing her out of her reverie where she wiped her face clean of any other emotions; another habit of hers. Sweeping her stationeries and books into her backpack, she prepared to leave the class when a hand slammed on her table.

Frowning, she tilted her head to see the culprit, Jiyoon, smiling at her sheepishly.”Sorry, you look as if you were in a daze.” Jiyoon smiled as she pushed her shades down to cover her eyes; something that still baffles her ever since she knew her.

“Stop wearing shades indoor, it looks crazy.” She chided Jiyoon who brushed the comment away with a wave of her arms.

Dragging a nearby chair, Jiyoon sat down beside her and stretched her body. “So,” Jiyoon started, “are you prepared for the game later? We need you to be in tip top shape, after all, you are our secret weapon to victory.”

She rolled her eyes at that comment, seriously, how can she say that out so blatantly as if it is a fact. “Jiyoon, you do know that I am not a member of the school basketball team, do you?” She asked as she grabbed her backpack and prepared to leave.

Don’t get her wrong, Jiyoon is her friend, but she really should lay low as instructed by her brothers. Ever since the last time Jiyoon pleaded her to replace another key member in the team, this request has repeated itself time and again. If her brothers knew that she is rather well known now, well, there is not much of a trouble right? They might pull her out of school like what she wanted.

“Do you know you have fans now? Actually you do know that ever since you stepped into this school, half of the population bowed at your handsome feet, including me.” Jiyoon removed her shades to show her pleading eyes. “You are so good looking when you play basketball, the three pointers you shoot is simply awesome, and you are so good looking, so come on.” Jiyoon clasped her hands together as she narrowed her eyes at the sight.

“Amber,” Jiyoon tugged at her sleeve before repeating herself, “Amber, please?”

She was about to open to protest that she isn’t that popular, and it is not a good thing to be that popular in an all girls school. And she is pretty sure Jiyoon is straight by the way that girl acted before her brothers. A rather disturbing thought as she mentally visualized a hoard of girls lusting after her, thank god she does not live in the hostel. But then again, she is pretty low profile in school, not like the girl beside her who acts as if she owns the whole world, or corridor for that matter.

Jiyoon followed her out before exclaiming, “I don’t care! You will turn up for sure! Love you Amber!” Jiyoon smiled sweetly at her and ruffled her hair before making a dash away from her, leaving her alone outside the classroom, standing there dumbfounded by her sudden switch.
