CHAPTER 1
👑 LUCKY PRINCE 👑Sujin rubbed her eyes groggily as she just woke up and turned off her alarm. Getting up reluctantly, Sujin made her way to the bathroom to start up her day. Upon finishing freshening up, Sujin stared longingly into the mirror and smoothed down her uniform along with the stray hairs sticking out of place. Today was going to be a brand new day and a fresh start. A new year was beginning and Sujin was not looking forward to it. Why is high school such hell? I can't wait to get out of this place and into college where some teachers don't half- everything and sugar coat saying "I want you guys to succeed and this will prepare you for the future" Sujin thought to herself internally. Sujin hated high school with a passion. She believed it was a prison and believed she was better off in college where the professors actually teach more than what high school teachers do in an hour. Sujin would know because she attended college last summer for about 2 months just for the experience and to complete her credits faster. Although she does admit college students have their own issues and problems to deal with. However, Sujin believed she managed her time better in college than in high school. "NOONA!!!!! COME DOWN AND EAT BEFORE I EAT IT!!!!" Jungkook, her little brother, yelled from downstairs. Sujin repiled with an "okay" and then sighed as looked at herself in the mirror one last time before heading to her bedroom door.
Heading downstairs Sujin saw the table being set up by her mom and Jungkook, who happens to get up a lot earlier than her allowing for more free time on his behalf. Once Sujin reached the table, she helped to finish setting up the table by laying out plates and utensils. When finished setting up the table and laying out the food their mother thanked them by saying, "Thank you Su su and Kookie!!! I don't know how I would function without either of you guys! You know after your dad left us and all. I will always try to be a great mother to both of you as you both are very precious to me." Jungkook and Sujin both blew flying kisses to their mother and then sat down and began eating with the thought of their horrible father. Knowing that their mother was still greatly traumatized from him. Jungkook and Soojin both vowed to not ever be like their father. He was a horrible and putrid man. Disgusting and horrendous.
Especially since Sujin witnessed the occurrence. She still couldn't believe that at the age of five she had seen her father hit and drag their mother by the hair around the house just due to money issues.
FLASHBACK: Their father had been an alcoholic, gambler and cheater. He had lost his job due to arriving late almost every day as well as not completing his tasks. Despite knowing of his joblessness 1 month prior he lied to his wife saying that he was still working and that he had been given a new shift. A shift that asked for him to work "late hours" when in reality he went to gamble and sleep with other women. His wife upon reaching that news that he had to work later was naive and trusted the man a little too much and complied saying that "It's okay. I understand. It's work." Only after 2 months had their mother finally found out that he was lying and that he had in fact been gambling and sleeping with other women when she realized there was money always disappearing out of nowhere. Their father wasn't very discrete as there was about $2000 taken out each time. At first, she was distraught and heartbroken but remained strong for her lovely children. Their innocence shouldn't be tainted by this useless and cowardly man their mother thought. Upon finding out 2 months after everything had occurred, their mother decided to confront the man himself. Of course, he had denied the allegations but slowly upon growing frustration, he had admitted his own sins. He had stated lame excuses saying, "I'm sorry, I won't do it again". Sujin and Jungkook who had been playing idly with lego blocks together stopped and listened to their parent's first argument ever. Sujin who had been older knew her little brother was afraid since his form was shaking and his eyes were teary so she covered his ears to prevent him from being scared. Sujin had also rubbed soothing circles on his back to calm her brother down in hopes that their parents won't know of them listening. From that point on, Sujin was worried whether her parents would stay together or not. Sujin hadn't ever thought it would lead to their father abusing their mother. In fact, abusing their mother in front of their children. After her parent's first argument, their father had somewhat changed. He continued with his antics despite apologizing and he began to be more verbal and physical. Their mother not wanting her children to know, only smiled, and calmed both her children down and put them to bed each night before they could witness what their father was doing. Until one night, Sujin and Jungkook who had shared one bed had heard their mother yell and scream out loud. Stating how she was done with their father and she didn't want him anymore. In addition, she screamed out profanities, cursed their father to go to hell, and that she was leaving him because he surely couldn't do anything at all. Sujin who was cuddling Jungkook who was also cuddling with a small blue teddy bear tightened her hold on the boy. She tried drowning out the sound of their parents argument like what they would do prior. Covering his ears and telling him to close his eyes. Jungkook only being about 3-4 years old obliged. However, when Sujin heard a crash she got up from the bed and headed towards the door telling Jungkook to cover his ears in the process. Jungkook opened his big doe eyes and saw his older sister get out of the bed and towards the door where she quietly creaked it open to see what had happened. Jungkook only saw his sister's face morph into fear as she quickly then ran back into bed. Not knowing what happened, his eyes began to get teary forming crystal droplets that were about to plop. Sujin who had been struck with fear began replaying what she had seen in her mind. After their mother had announced that she wanted out of this marriage their father who had disliked the idea had grabbed their mother by the hair and slammed her towards the ground where their mother only yelped. Sujin questioned whether the neighbors heard and if they heard why wasn't anyone doing anything. Her mother was hurting and she was hurt by their father. A bunch of why's run through her head. When Sujin heard sniffing she came out of her thoughts and turned to her side where she saw her little brother crying silently while still having his ears covered by his hands and his teddy bear in between his legs. Noticing that she hadn't told him and was quiet for a while she knew he was probably scared as she didn't say anything, Sujin hugged her brother where he only then cried louder and harder. Hearing her father say he was going to get the children, she knew their parents had heard Jungkook crying. Sujin had tried to shush Jungkook and muffle his cries as quickly as she could as she didn't want to be faced with their father. However, their mother after being thrown on the floor did not want her children to be put into danger so she had tried obscuring their father by putting her arms spread out in front of the door. Their father irritated that his wife wouldn't even let him near the children had pushed her aside where he kicked her in the stomach before opening the door. Once the door had been opened, their father only saw his children's eyes staring back at him teary as one child masked fear and one in fear of what was going on. Their father had taken small steps towards the duo but before he could reach them their mother had pushed him out of the way resulting in him hitting the edge of the bed. Their mother trying to get her children out of the place frantically gathered both her children in her arms and ran to the door. The night was cold however their mother could care less as she only was concerned with her children's safety. That night they had taken a taxi to Daegu where her mother's family had resided. At first, they were surprised at the appearance of their daughter but when their mother had explained the situation, they were more than outraged. From then on they had welcomed the three to stay for as long as they needed. Even though the three never met with the man again they knew he was still out there and lurking. Their mother had sent divorce papers but they were never returned which resulted in their mother giving up and moving to Seoul for a job and to get away from their father after 1 year of waiting. After that incident, in fear of maybe bumping into the man again and just for safety reasons, their mother had made her children take self-defense classes. END OF FLASHBACK 7:30 AMSujin and Jungkook helped their mother clear up the table and then headed out to their school, HANSUNG HIGH SCHOOL. It was a very good school but Sujin hated the people and the corupted system. Jungkook, on the other hand, didn't mind the school but that's maybe because he was actually known as opposed to his noona. His noona was known but not to the extent of being heavily popular and crazed over. Jungkook liked to think that his noona was just jealous because she wasn't getting enough attention. The thought only had him chuckling. If only she had met his hyungs maybe she can get the attention ;))))))
7:45 AMThe duo arrived at school and was met with girls crowding out at the gates in hopes of seeing their OPPARS AKA Sujin's little brother and his crew who call themselves BTS. Sujin believed the idea the ridiculous when she first heard from Jungkook but her brother being too charming and cheeky finally won her approval after Jungkook had sulked for nearly 5 seconds. Jungkook had always been a soft spot for Sujin but he won't ever know ;)))
The duo tried squeezing through the crowd but failed when Sujin had tripped and fallen on top of a man. The man was no one nice alright as he had yelled out a "Yahh, get off me. I know I'm handsome but take a picture it lasts longer. I'm going to have to report you for ually harassing me!!" The man angered Sujin since it had been an accident but the man is making the situation as if she had intentionally fallen just to get his attention. Having enough of the bull that was sprouting out of his mouth, Sujin stood her ground by bursting out, "Then I should report you for harassing me too. I fell by accident but that doesn't mean you can put your hands on my S!! And not everyone finds you good looking so get your head out of the gutter!!" Jungkook who had witnessed everything was amused. Maybe this year there will be some mutualism. His noona will finally be getting a boyfriend!! He mentally cheered his hyung on and hoped that he would get to know his sister better. However, knowing of his hyungs past he hadn't hoped too much and tried to remain with reality. After Sujin had left, Jungkook had retorted to Taehyung that his sister had a point and that she didn't mean to fall on top of him. Jungkook had clarified that the two were only trying to get through but the crowd was overwhelming. However, Taehyung being stubborn refuse to acknowledge the fact and only thought of making Sujin's life a living hell in HANSUNG (which she already is experiencing but go off I guess).
