“I was always unlucky. It was just how I was. The day I was born, they told me that my life would be devastating and my mother believed them.” I told Yuta, the male shaking his head. He didn’t believe in horoscopes, he didn’t believe in coincidences, and he didn’t believe in luck.

“I believe that life is how you make it,” he replied. “And if there is one thing you would want to do, what would it be?”

“To touch the stars.” I smiled at him. “I want to touch the stars and demand for an explanation.”

“He’s not coming, Charm,” Taeyong said to me and I blinked, trying to understand. “He’s gone.”

“Where?”

“Back to Japan,” Taeyong said and my face fell.

“Why didn’t he say goodbye?” I asked. “Why couldn’t he say goodbye?”

The thing about losing your memory is that you get a second chance in life.

You forget the people who hurt you, you forget the people you refuse to forgive and you forget everything that made you— you.

And I sat there in a wheelchair, Taeyong arriving once more but this time with someone I didn’t recognize.

“Charm, I know you don’t remember, but this is Yuta,” Taeyong said and the male smiled, a hand going to shake mine gently.

“Yuta?” His name was foreign to my ears. I had no recollection of him. “What were we before this? Were we friends?”

“Lovers,” he said and I tilted my head to the side.

Wow, I must be very lucky, I thought.
