Fifty-seven
Leading Us to This New ChanceSeptember arrived and the twins were doing great. Donghae had also recovered and did some activities at home to move his legs at least for a few hours. He just waited for Sunny to release him to do physical activity, as he would go back to the gym and continue working out. It wasn't even about aesthetics anymore. Donghae just missed having a routine outside of the house.
Hyukjae spent a lot more time at home and was able to help Ari and Destiny who took care of Junghoon and Jihye. The babies were calm and didn't have the habit of crying at night, only when they were hungry or their diapers were dirty. Donghae usually woke up to take care of his children and was happy that Hyukjae was there too.
Yesung and Ryeowook finally went to live in Hyukjae's apartment. After settling in, the couple traveled to Hawaii, where the wedding would take place. They wanted the family to be there to celebrate such a good and unique moment, but they settled for the help of the wedding organizer who would use her cell phone to broadcast the ceremony to everyone.
That September 20th, Yesung and Ryeowook were ready to say yes. The entire moment they got ready in separate rooms was recorded by a special camera. Ryeowook talked to his parents and Yesung talked to his mother and older brother – unfortunately he couldn't talk to the little Wookie who already lived in Seoul and wanted to attend his uncle's wedding.
Since it was his special day, Yesung decided that he wouldn't start a fuss with his twin brother. They could sort this out later – and also, Ryeowook deserved a content day.
Keeping in mind that this was the best day ever, Yesung and Ryeowook met in the hotel lobby. They were both wearing dark blue suits and wearing shiny black shoes. Smiling, they walked towards the car that was waiting for them so they could go to the beach where they would finally get married.
- Nervous? – Ryeowook asked. Yesung nodded – Me too. This feels like one of those good dreams you don't want to wake up from.
- But are you happy with reality?
- Of course I am. I never thought walking down the aisle with you would actually happen. When you proposed, I felt like the happiest person in the whole world. I didn't imagine we would arrive on this day.
- Why?
- Because we had thousands of things to be resolved and the date seemed increasingly distant.
Yesung had to agree with that. The last few months have been very busy.
- The good side of all this is that we faced the situation courageously so that today finally arrived. – Yesung kissed Ryeowook's neck and smiled – I'm happy to know that we will soon be husbands.
Ryeowook held Yesung's hand and intertwined his fingers with his groom’s. They didn't talk much after that. The car continued on its way and the dream was becoming more and more a reality. And, when they arrived at the beach, they went out and waved at the wedding planner who waved and guided them towards the place where the ceremony would take place.
Yesung kissed Ryeowook's forehead and held his hand. The wedding organizer already had her cell phone in hand and their friends and family were online to watch the ceremony. As soon as the song started, Yesung and Ryeowook started walking towards the altar, smiling at each other as they exchanged glances.
At the altar, Yesung and Ryeowook stood facing each other and you could see happy tears gathering in their eyes. The celebrant spoke kind, sweet words. The grooms never stopped smiling and, on certain occasions, Yesung needed a tissue to dry the corners of his eyes and Ryeowook chuckled because he had never seen his groom so emotional.
At the time of the vows, everyone who watched the ceremony on computers or cell phones was moved. The wedding, despite being simple, was very beautiful. The decoration was made with white and pink flowers, and pink fabrics decorated the altar. Ryeowook had dyed his hair purple and Yesung had reddish hair. In short, they were a very beautiful couple who came together in a wonderful relationship, in the most beautiful wedding anyone could have seen.
After they sealed their union with a kiss, Yesung and Ryeowook smiled and waved at the event organizer's cell phone camera. In South Korea, people celebrated and sent messages of support and affection. There was a lot of love involved in that wedding and everyone was happy.
It was a happy day.
...O...
October...
Arrow was beyond excited, as his sixth birthday was approaching and preparations were almost over. Donghae wasn't going to make the candies, as he was at home still recovering from the two surgeries he had, so Ryeowook already had the boy's favorite recipes to make around 200 party sweets.
Arrow always liked throwing parties and that was no secret to anyone. There wouldn't be a theme that time, as Arrow felt comfortable having a party away from the Halloween theme. He wanted all his friends to be there and that was important – which meant Dasom would be there and Aisha didn't like the idea at all.
- Why do you have to invite her, Arrow? – Aisha asked a little sullenly – I don't like her.
- But she's my friend, Ai.
- She is your best friend? – Arrow shook his head – So why does she have to go?
- Because we play football together. Appa and dad said I could invite the whole school if I wanted.
Aisha sighed, crossing her arms.
- I'll tell omma if Dasom says bad things about my hair again. And I'm not going to play with her or you.
Arrow widened his eyes and opened his mouth to say something when Gaeul put his arm around his shoulders and said to Aisha:
- She won't say anything about your hair, Ai.
- How do you know?
- Jiwoon-ah will ask her not to say anything about her hair, won't you, Jiwoon?
- Yes! And she can't talk about your hair, which is very beautiful. Dad said I have to be nice and protect you.
Aisha seemed pleased with this, but was still upset about Dasom's presence at Arrow's party. Anyway, she couldn't just uninvite the other girl because she didn't like her. All Aisha could do was watching Arrow go towards Dasom to talk to her.
- Why don't you like Dasom, Aisha-ah? – Gaeul asked. Aisha murmured:
- She is very annoying. She says ugly things to me.
Gaeul nodded slowly, sitting on the bench and swinging his legs. He looked at Arrow and Dasom who were walking towards them. Aisha avoided rolling her eyes because her mother said it wasn't a polite thing to do, but if she could, she would roll her eyes until they were white.
- I want to talk to you, Aisha.
- But I don't want to talk to you.
Dasom narrowed her eyes.
- Did you see, Arrow? She doesn't want to talk to me.
- Oh, she just wants to promise you a little something.
This time Aisha narrowed her eyes and crossed her arms. She wouldn't buy that nonsense.
- I promise I won't say that her hair is ugly anymore. Arrow said you get sad and don't like me. I wanted to be your friend.
- But I don't want to be your friend. You say ugly things to me, and omma said that I don't need to be friends with those who wish me harm. – Aisha got off the bench and went close to her true friends. Arrow looked at Gaeul and then at Dasom, who shrugged and said:
- Let's play football.
Being children, the boys simply went with Dasom who looked at Aisha and stuck out her tongue.
For the rest of the day, Aisha stayed away from Arrow and Gaeul. She was very upset and hated being contradicted like that, so she didn't talk to them about the activities the teacher had given them. Aisha joined her friends at the back of the classroom and the four of them laughed quietly as they talked about something.
Arrow looked at Gaeul and said:
- Girls are complicated.
Gaeul agreed and said:
- You should bring Aisha-ah a gift, Jiwoon.
- What?
- I don't know. Why don't you give her a cupcake?
- Dad can't help me.
- And Dee Dee?
- She does not know how to cook. She tried to make ramen for me and it was salty. Then we ate pizza.
Gaeul rested his chin in his hand.
- I wanted Dee Dee to be my nanny.
- Why?
- Because I want to eat pizza and my dad never orders it.
Arrow laughed and looked back, just to make sure Aisha was okay with her friends.
- I'm going to draw a nice thing for her. – he said, confident that his plan would work very well. Gaeul looked at the teacher, who was distracted by other students.
- Then do it quickly because the teacher can come by.
Arrow nodded and picked up a loose sheet of paper in his notebook. Then he took the coloring pencil and drew a picture of an alien, because he and Aisha liked aliens – something they discovered after watching an alien movie at Gaeul's house – and used the green pencil to color the alien's body. Arrow wrote some words of encouragement as well and went to Aisha, who looked at him curiously.
- I mad
