Everybody in the room was holding their breath. It was as if a miracle has happened. No, that. It is a miracle. A long-term coma patient was finally waking up and everybody could be present and watch her wake up.

“Good morning or better said good afternoon. I am Krystal Jung and I am your attending doctor. I was the one who did your surgery. Do you perhaps know your name and age?” – Krystal asked with a smile on her face

“I think that my name is Moon Byulyi. I am not so sure myself. If I am right, my age must be 22.” – Byulyi said with a question mark swirling around her head

The patient was struggling to sit up and when Dr. Jung saw that, she decided to help her out. She knew that the patient wouldn’t be able to sit up or to even lift up a finger. After all, her body hasn’t been in motion for five years.

“Yes, your name is Moon Byulyi. You are going to be 27 years old this year. I know that you must be panicking right now, but I have to explain your situation. You are unable to move because you have been in a coma for five years. You were admitted here on the 25th of May 2019. We were told that you were involved in a traffic accident. Can you possibly remember what you did before the accident and how you got into the accident?” – Dr. Jung asked her patient

“I am sorry, but I can’t seem to remember what happened. I don’t want to sound rude but who are all the other people in this room?” – Moon Byulyi asked Dr. Jung

“No, it was my fault for not introducing them earlier. This is Dr. Jessica Jung. She is the chief physician of the hospital. These are the nurses who looked after you during the five years. Mina, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu. Tzuyu was hired only last year, but Mina and Chaeyoung have been working on your care since you arrived.” – Krystal introduced everyone in the room

“Thanks for the introduction. Ehm, I do not currently see any relatives or friends. Has anyone visited me in the last few years?” – Moon Byulyi asked as she was looking around

“Yes, of course. I have to say that you are quite popular. I cannot remember the names exactly, but I think they are called Wheein, Hyejin, Heeyeon and Sunmi? They came by three or four times a week. In the first two to three years, a certain Yongsun came to visit you, but for some unexplainable reasons, she stopped visiting. Can you possibly remember them?” – Krystal told her patient

“At the moment, I cannot really remember the names, but you said that they were my friends, so I assume that I should trust you. Did my family not visit me?” – Byulyi asked with sad puppy eyes

“I am sorry to inform you that we were unable to contact them as we did not know their phone number. When we asked your friends if they knew the number, they said that your parents had died long ago. We are sincerely sorry to have to tell you this.” – Krystal said with empathy

“Is it normal that I do not remember hardly anything or is my brain damaged. You mentioned that I was involved in an accident. Could it be that my brain was damaged by it?” – Byulyi a
