The sun was glaring down on his skin, the warm air breezing freely in the bright blue sky. In the distance, the sound of seagulls singing and waves crushing down on sandy golden shore echoed like soft whispers reminding him that it’s summer. Sehun can make out his reflection staring back at him from the worn out white tiles and suddenly he felt silly. There was a perfectly good beach right there, but here he was, in a vacant public swimming pool with the smell of chlorine in the air instead of salt. A splash of water to his face brought him out of his thoughts and there he was -- tan skin, wet hair slicked back, and the shyest, the most beautiful smile Sehun has ever seen. Like Poseidon, he thought and it brought the lightest titter to his lips.

“What’s so funny?”

“Nothing,” Sehun replied, “just imagining you as a mermaid.”

“Yeah? What colour’s my tail?”

“Oh, no. You’re human waist down.”

Another splash, another laughter and everything was perfect.
