Unspoken Rule
The Bro CodeLee Minhyuk and Moon Byulyi are twins who didn't grow up together. Minhyuk stayed with her mother in South Korea while Byulyi went with her father to the United States. But despite the distance, the two of them stayed close, thanks to technology. They talk on the phone and see each other on video calls every chance they get.
But even then, there was something missing; they both crave the physical presence of each other that they never got a chance to have, growing up.
They were babies when their parents had a divorce.
They never got the chance to have matching clothes, play sports together, have the same circle of friends. They never got the chance to experience things together, growing up. And to top it all off, they never had the chance to experience having a complete family.
But even so...they are twins, sure they have a different set of friends, and maybe different best friends as well, but they are, and will always be, each other's bestest friend.
And so when Moonbyul called Minhyuk bearing the good news that she and their father are coming home to South Korea, they were both beyond excited.
Jung Wheein and Lee Minhyuk have been friends for as long as they can remember. It was inevitable, really; their families are close and they live next door to each other. They belong to the same social circle. They have a lot of things in common, that if you would look beyond their physical appearance you would almost feel like they are the same person.
Some would even think that they’re dating by how close they were; ‘some’ being an understatement. But Wheein has always liked girls; in fact, the two of them would always compete to get a girl like their lives depended on it.
But all of that stopped when Minhyuk’s long-time crush and current girlfriend, Kim Yongsun, came into the picture.
“So, your twin is coming home?” Wheein asks, a little excited herself, to finally meet Minhyuk’s twin sister.
“Yes.” Minhyuk replied cheerfully; the smile on his face was so big that it was contagious. “I honestly can’t wait.”
“How long are they here for, again?” Wheein asks.
“According to Byul, they’re here for at least a year.” Minhyuk replies; excited with the idea of finally sharing the same college as her twin sister. They are both taking up classes for Business Administration since they have been planning to have a business partnership after they graduate.
“That’s pretty long.” Wheein notes. She’s happy for her best friend, and maybe a little bit happy for herself.
It was their last year at middle school when Wheein first saw Byul; Minhyuk was busy with his laptop when Wheein barged in on his room.
“Minhyuk! You wouldn’t believe-”she stopped midsentence when she saw a beautiful girl on her best friend’s computer screen. “Oh.” Wheein wasn’t sure the sound came from , or if it was just her heart who said it.
“Wheein!” Minhyuk called her excitedly. “Nice timing, I’ve been dying to introduce you to my sister.” He said, pulling Wheein into the frame so Byul could see her. “Byul, this is Wheein my best friend. Wheein, this is Byulyi my twin sister.”
“Hi.” Byul greets, a smile casually spreads across her face.
“Hi.” Wheein greets back. The normally talkative J
