There he was, looking at me with tears in his eyes.  He was apologising, saying how sorry he was and how he never wanted for this to happen, but he had no choice.  He couldn't wait any longer.  He had to do it.  It was the only way.  

He was begging for my forgiveness, hoping that I would understand.  How can I ever understand something like this?  How can I forgive him when he's standing there with the gun in his hand?  Why would he do this to me?

It hurt.  It hurt an awful lot when the the bullet pierced through my skin, ripped through my flesh and exited out from my back.  It hurt like hell.  

He continued talking but I was in too much pain to listen.

He said his final words before he turned and walked away, leaving me there in a pool of my own blood.  I turned my head to the side as I watched his figure disappeared in the distance.
