pokemon radio is a mini series im writing so that even for people who dont know about pokemon would understand the basics (e.g. typing, moves, etc) and the hosts are gonna be the bap members :)

Pokemon Radio: Trainer Teacher

Hosts: Youngjae and Daehyun

Youngjae: Welcome to our very first radio channel on B.A.Pokemon Radio!

Daehyun: B.A.Pokemon?

Youngjae: Uh...Best Absolute Pokemon? I don't know. I just strung the first two letters that came to mind with Pokemon.

Daehyun: Uh...sure.

Cottonee: Nee?

Youngjae: Anyways, that aside, we're here to teach you about how to be a trainer. Pokemon isn't just about hacking and slashing your way through. There's much more to Pokemon than that, like the basics.

Daehyun: What Youngjae means is that we can't always win by outright attacking. There are some other things to take note of as well.

Youngjae: That's right. Today, we're going to teach you about Types. Say, Daehyun, you're knowledgeable about types, right?

Daehyun: You bet I am! There are 18 types discovered as of now. Each Pokemon has at least one type. Take Youngjae's Petilil for example. It's Grass-type. Other Pokemon have two types, like Cottonee, which is Grass-and-Fairy-type.

Youngjae: Ooh, I see. Why are some Pokemon so unique, though? Having one type or two types...does it make a difference?

Daehyun: Well, yeah. The battle can go different ways depending on the types of the Pokemon!

Youngjae: Oh well, guess we'll learn more about that in Move Master! Continue on, Daehyun-ah!

Petilil: Peti! Peti!

Daehyun: So, each type has at least one other type it's weak to, and I would say that each type has one other type it's strong against, but...

Youngjae: Oh, that's right. The Normal-type. It isn't strong against any other type, right?

Daehyun: Yeah.

Youngjae: How do we know what type is strong against another?

Daehyun: For some, it's pretty common sense, really. Water is good against fire. Fire is good against grass and grass is good against water. It depends on nature. Sometimes, it's a little out there, like Bug being good against Dark and Ghost types are good against each other!

Youngjae: Seriously? Wait, aren't Dragon-types like that too?

Daehyun: Well, yeah. If you use Dragonbreath on an Altaria, which is Flying-and-Dragon type, by the way, the Altaria would take supereffective damage since Dragonbreath is a Dragon-type move. I mean, duh.

Youngjae: Ah. What if I try to hit a Ghost-type with a Fighting-type move? I mean, nature dictates that my hand passes through the ghost?

Daehyun: Yeah. Fighting-type and Normal-type moves don't affect Ghost-types, so you can't hit them with it. Normal-type can't take damage from Ghost-type move seither. There are other types like this: Dragon-types can't hit Fairy-types and Electric-types can't hit Rock-types. Psychic-types can't hit Dark-types. Steel-types can't be hurt by Poison-types. Flying-types are immune to Ground-type moves.

Youngjae: I see, I see.

Daehyun: Well, speaking of immunity, the Pokemon's type can determine whether they'll take damage in battle under certain conditions. Poison-type Pokemon can be hit by Poison-type moves, but they can't get the Poison status ailment. Grass-types can't get afflicted by Leech Seed and stuff like that.

Youngjae: Oh damn, I didn't know the last one.

Daehyun: You learn something new every day.

Youngjae: Welp, that's about it for Trainer Teacher today! Hope you've learned something! Remember guys, don't try to use Dig on a Skarmory. It isn't gonna work.

Daehyun: Yep.
