You didn’t see what you saw

Sometimes, our eyes play tricks on us. We thought we saw things we shouldn’t when we actually didn’t see something at all. Or at least that was what Chaeng thought.

SN: Maknae, I can believe you scream because of that!

CYG: Not my fault!

MN: But seriously, we thought you saw something you should not.

CYG: I thought the same too.

JHO: Mianhe maknae… Didn’t now that tickling each other underneath the duvet means I was doing something else.

CYG: You can’t blame me. I don’t have much experience. I only assume with what I saw.

MN: That was the most hilarious dinner I ever had. (Mina laughed heartily.)

SN: It has been so long since I hear you laugh Minari.

JHO: You look very happy today.

MN: Do I? (She smiles tenderly at her members.)

CYG: Was it because of Sehun oppa?

MN: Ani… I am happy that we are all happy. I am happy that Sehun oppa and I aren’t at odd after the break-up.

SN: Chaeng, what were you talking about with Jongdae oppa after dinner at the balcony? You guys look so serious.

CYG: Nothing much. (She denied.)

JHO: You literally hugged him.

CYG: He hugged me first.

MN: Did you like it?

CYG: Unnie!!!

The Shorty and The Heavenly Voice Flashback

It was awkward during dinner. Jongdae couldn’t understand why Chaeyoung avoided any eye contact with him. When Chaeyoung was helping Mina to wipe the washed dishes, he crept in the kitchen.

JD: Minari, can I take Chaeng with me for a short while? I really need to speak to her.

Mina turn and look at the maknae who was avoiding Jongdae.

MN: Go ahead oppa…

JD: Thank you Minari.

SH: You guys go ahead, I will help her with the dishes. (Sehun spoke up.)

Mina’s heart races.

MN: Oppa, it is okay, you can join the rest at the living room.

SH: Ani, how can I? I have not done anything other than enjoying what you cooked for us today.

At the balcony, Chaeyoung was enjoying the view and the wind. Jongdae was leaning against the grill as he looks at the girl beside him. Her dimples were so adorable and it took a lot for him to withheld his kiss.

JD: Chaeng… (He called out to her softly.)

CYG: Uhmm…

JD: Why are you avoiding me?

CYG: Was I? (She responded nervously.)

JD: You know I know that you do. (He leaned forward as he searches for her eyes.)

CYG: I think this apartment has good fengshui. I like that it is windy too. Don’t you? (She changes the topic.)

Jongdae lets out a small laugh. He was certain that tonight he would ascertain their relationship. But he doesn’t know where to start. He reaches out for her wrist. Chaeyoung eyes were wide in shocked but she didn’t pull her hand away.

JD: I am going to say something which you may or may not like. (He whispered loud enough for her ears.)

Chaeyoung was even more confused. All that she hears ringing in her head “…may not like”. However, she became even more confused when he held her hand longer than usual. He then slipped a beautiful bangle with the carving ‘My Baby Lion’. Chaeyoung stared at the bangle for a good long while before looking at him in the eyes trying to search for meaning behind this gift because it was neither her birthday or any special day that she remembered. Jongdae took her hands closer to his lips before kissing it.

JD: You hate this? (He questioned her nervously because she has not said a word for a few minutes.)

CYG: Ani…. I never said that. (She answered carefully before giving him the look.)

JD: Why are you looking at me like that?

CYG: Oppa….

JD: What?

CYG: What are we? (She braved herself and initiated the question.)

JD: I don’t know. But what I do know is that… I really really like you. I adore you. (He finally confessed to her.)

Her silence is killing him. She didn’t say a word nor respond in any other way.

JD: I like being around you. I like when you laugh and smile. I simply love it when tell me a super lame joke. I love it when you care for me. When we didn’t get to meet for months, I really miss you. When something bad happens, all I think was ‘What would Chaeyoung say to me?’. When you avoided me because of what my other members did to your members, I get hurt but all the more I wanted to prove to you that I won’t do that to you. (He explained further just in case the girls couldn’t understand what he meant.)

This time round, he could feel Chaeyoung’s grip on his hand tightens but she still hasn’t said a word.

JD: Honestly, I like you since the very first time I saw you making that music video for your cover. But the scares me a little then. I cast my feelings aside and even dated other girls because I thought that liking you was just a phase. I strongly believe then that someone nearer to my age group would understand me better but no one came close to you. When Jong hyung left us, I was sad that while Jihyo and Sana were there for my members, you were there on the other side of the phone. (He poured out his feelings to her.)

Chaeyoung was surprised at he thought he put in while weighing about his feelings for her.

CYG: Did you come to a conclusion? (She finally uttered something.)

JD: I did.

CYG: What was that?

JD: I want you. I want you to be mine. I want to be the one for you. I want to date you officially. However, I don’t even know how you feel about me. At times, I could feel that you care for me more than just a brother or a friend. Sometime, you seem oblivious to my feelings and advances.

Chaeyoung couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

CYG: I am scared oppa. (She finally says what she is feeling right then.)

JD: Scared of?

CYG: This feeling that I am feeling. I am constantly worried that what if feelings change? What if you change? What if I change? What if our age difference causes us to drift apart.

JD: What is it that you feel towards me?

CYG: I am scared because…. I think I like you too. Otoke! (She finally expresses her concerns with tears in her eyes.)

JD: And… (He probes.)

CYG: I am scared that I would end up like Mina unnie. I am scared that one day you would hurt me and leave me for someone who is better than me. Every single time Mina unnie shed tears for Sehun oppa, I kept asking myself how could someone who claimed to have love Mina unnie so much fall for another person at the same time? I am just so scared of all those possibilities.

Jongdae could sense the fear in her voice. He quickly pulls her into his arms.

JD: I cannot promise you all those will not happen. I don’t want for that to happen to us but I also know men make stupid mistakes. I don’t want to sugar coat my words just to comfort you. I also don’t dare to promise you that I wont ever hurt you. But… all I can say I will work hard and make things work until we can no longer work things out.

Chaeyoung tears up even more as she tightened her embrace. She dives into his intoxicating smell and finally she looks up to him. Jongdae wiped her tears away and dapped his shirt to dry off her tears. Chaeyoung finally carved a smile. A smile that melts his heart. The dimples that stirred his heart.

JD: Chaeng…

CYG: Hmmm

JD: Don’t be angry…

CYG: Why would I?

JD: Because of this…

Jongdae finally kissed her on the lips. The girl naturally responded by wrapping her arms around his neck as she tiptoed and rises closer to him. When they finally pull away from each other, Chaeyoung was blushing like a peach. She looks away and was about to run away to the toilet but Jongdae pull her waist closer to him.

JD: You my dear really love running away from me, don’t you? (He teases her.)

CYG: Oppa…let me go. This will be embarrassing if someone saw us.

JD: You have not given me an answer… (He pouted.)

Chaeyoung could feel her cheeks turning red.

CYG: I thought me responding to the kiss was clear enough.

JD: I want to hear your answer. Son Chaeyoung… maknae of TWICE and the lion cub to JYPE…. Would you be mine?

CYG: I am already yours… (She smiled tenderly at the guy in front of her.)

JD: Should we tell our members?

CYG: Lets keep this to ourselves for just a few more days. Let me bask in this surreal feeling that I am feeling.

JD: Would my name appear in your diary tonight?

CYG: Maybe… (She teases him.)

JD: Ani…. MUST BE! (He tightened his hug.)

The Cold & The Jealous

Mina who was on the sofa watched from a far. She knew Chaeng has found the one. She looks around the living room. It was just herself and Sehun. Jihyo and Suho are back in their room while Sana and DO were playing around in the music studio. She smiles to herself before her thoughts were disrupted by Sehun sitting next to her.

MN: Why oppa?

SH: Mianhe… I just feel like sitting next to you.

Mina nodded not knowing what to answer him. As they looked at each other, they were interrupted by a phone call. Mina’s phone rang. Sehun looked visibly upset when he saw the name ‘J’. He wondered who called her. What made him even more upset, she moved away to answer that call.

He wondered if she is meeting someone new. He saw Mina responding softly as she let out a small chuckle hurting his heart. The he overheard, “Next time okay. Sorry we had late night practice tonight. See you when you are back in Korea.”

Mina could see the hurt on his face but she knew he doesn’t have the right to feel that way. As she moves to the kitchen to get a drink, she was startled to see Sehun appearing behind her.

SH: Who called you? (He asked in a chirpy tone trying not to sound jealous.)

MN: A friend.

SH: A guy or a girl friend?

MN: Guy… (Mina honestly answered.)

SH: From another group?

MN: Yes…

SH: Which group?

MN: Why does it matter?

SH: I just… I just want to know…

MN: Oppa… this is personal. I like to keep it that way.

Sehun’s heart felt that it was pierced like a thousand times.

SH: Ani, I was just curious who would be able t melt your heart.

MN: No one. I had enough of heart breaking. All I want is to make more friends be it boy or girl.

SH: What if they have a different agenda?

MN: Well, if god allows it, and my heart melted, who knows? He might be the one. But for now, I a just comfortable with making friends only. (She answered before proceeding to remind the girls that they have to leave soon.)

Sehun couldn’t help but felt disappointed with Mina’s indifference.

What is Love?

TWICE and CBX will be promoting at the same time. The girls are excited especially Chaeng. Although she made no mention of her relationship with Jongdae, her members knew that the sensitive maknae was just protecting her privacy. When the time comes, the maknae will finally tell them. Twice’s changing room was just next to CBX. Occasionally when they passed by each other, Chaeng and Jong pretended like its not a big deal. Very unlike their members, this couple were more on the low. They do text each other all day long.

During Mcountdown, Jong was over the moon when Chaeng was instructed to stand beside him. She was very cautious because EXO-L were behind them. Jong knew that that he has to control himself from reaching for her hands. Chaeng couldn’t help but marvelled at him when he sang snippets of his latest single. In Jong’s head when Chaeng finished her speech, he wished he could give her the purple flower bouquet to her but he shoved it towards the camera instead.

Although they get to meet often during promotion, sadly the thing was they can’t run off to their secret dates. The girls can’t wait for the 2 days break they will get before resuming concert practices.

As Kyungsoo watches his group members doing their unit performance followed by TWICE’s performances, he felt jealous. He wishes it was him who was there. He actually was just annoyed that he couldn’t spend time with Sana. He however was thankful that when portion ended, Sana would have 2 days of leave and he can’t wait to spend time with her.

He was waiting a little further from the girl’s house. He was very careful and made sure there weren’t any suspicious vehicles following him. He was thankful that his manager’s car is tinted. His smile widens when he saw her entering the car with a couple of paper bags. Once she was safely buckled, she reaches out to kiss him on his cheeks. He loves it when she does that and till now, he still turns red when Sana initiates any skin ship.

SN: Boyah…. My man is blushing…. (She teases him.)

DO: I was not…

SN: Yes, you were darl…

Kyungsoo pretended not to hear her words.

SN: Where are we going today?

DO: We will just hang out at Suho hyung’s place if you don’t mind.

SN: That would be perfect.

DO: Sana ya…. (He called out to her gently.)

SN: Wei… why do you sound so serious?

DO: I have been considering something for some time.

SN: About??

DO: Getting my own apartment…

SN: You think you are ready to own your own place?

DO: I do…. I just haven’t been around to get it done properly. I mean, I am sure you want our own place, right? (He answered as he checks her body language.)

Sana turned and look out the window. She then softly wipes her tears away. Kyungsoo was a little shocked. He reaches for her face and wipes away her tears.

DO: Mianhe… did I say something wrong? Why are you crying? (He panics a little and he continues to drive.)

SN: Ani… I am just a little touched that you thought about me and include us in your planning for the future. (She whines affectionately.)

DO: Aigooo… it has only been you and I pray it will always be you.

In Suho’s apartment, Sana was unloading the content of her paper bag. Jihyo has packed a lot of food for Suho and Sana is tasked to bring it over.

As the couple lazes on the sofa watching a drama, Sana who happened to praise the lead actor, none other her Sunbaenim 2PM Junho, her words kinda made Kyungsoo jealous.

DO: I am still upset about your scandal with him. (He mumbles as he wonders if he has the right to feel jealous.)

SN: Scandal? With Junho oppa? (She curiously asked.)

DO: People were saying that you and he are probably in a relationship when you guys filmed his music video. (He whines and complain.)

Sana who was leaning on him immediately turn around.

SN: Seriously oppa?

DO: It wasn’t me, it was the netizens.

SN: But do you believe it?

DO: I don’t but I can’t help but be jealous. Sometimes, I just want to announce to the world that you are mine but then….

Sana reaches for his face and lifted his chin up.

SN: You know I am yours, right?

DO: I know…

SN: You know that I love you right?

DO: I know… And I love you too….

SN: You know you are that special one, right?

DO: I know… You are special to me too…

SN: So… please don’t worry unnecessarily…

DO: How to not worry when I could practically see the hundreds of guys going after you?

Sana laughed at her super jealous boyfriend.

SN: Otoke??? I didn’t ask for that.

Kyungsoo circles his arm around her neck and pulls her closer to him.

DO: Can you not look at guys so endearingly? You know you have a habit to look at people, and people will just instantly melt at your stare. I worry if they fall in love with you.

SN: I love it when you are jealous.

DO: I can’t help it.

SN: But don’t worry, I don’t think other guys will fall in love with me.

DO: NOPE… you still can’t smile at them.

SN: I don’t care! (She retorted playfully as she reaches to tickle him.)

DO: Hajima…. I am a little sensitive.

SN: Poor you… you must have been waiting very long for me.

DO: I will wait for you …always… (He whispered before leaning in for a kiss.)

SN: Should I help you?

DO: Ya… stop teasing me!

SN: You sure you want me to stop?

DO: Chagiya… please don’t… (He pleaded to her in the cutest form.)

So… what is love? What is love to the girls and guys?

Love is this.

Love is being able to have your love ones in your arms.

Whispering sweet words is love.

Feeling jealous is love.

Being intimate is love.

Its seems true then, distance makes the heart grow fonder. How long can they be this happy? How long do they have to hide? These questions will remain unanswered for now.
