I stopped you, but you didn’t listen to me...

*“I need to tell her...”*

I told you, you won’t like it...

*“What will happen..?”*

I’m sorry, but this must be done.

*Gasp!*

“What now?”

Hellen kept on breathing heavily.

“I hope it’s not bad as what she said.”

*Knock. Knock. Knock.*

“Hellen...”

Hellen’s mother called out, as she entered Hellen’s room.

“My dear, you’re awake already...”

She noticed that Hellen looked pale, then she sat beside Hellen.

“Are you okay? Another nightmare..?”

Hellen’s mother asked her worryingly.

“Yes... it’s just a ‘nightmare’.”

“Good thing, I made pancakes, your favorite!”

Hellen was delighted and forgot a bit what’s worrying her.

“Thanks, Ma... You’re really the best!”

She hugged her mother.

“Go down, after you clean this mess...”

Hellen’s mother pointed at her and her bed.

“Okay, Ma.”

Hellen showed her kiddy smile.

“Don’t be too long, okay?”

“Yes, Ma... I’ll be there in no time.”

Hellen’s mother went downstairs and prepared the table.

Hellen fixed her bed and went to the bathroom.

She sighed and looked at herself in the mirror.

“No worries... Everything’s going to be fine.”

Sigh.

“There’s nothing bad going to happen.”

Sigh.

“I’ll be fine...”

Sigh.

“I’m hopeless... I’m keeping on sighing.”

Sigh.

“I really need to get a hold of myself...”

Hellen splashed her face with water and brushed her teeth.

“I better take a shower to get this negative vibe out of me...”

Hellen took a shower, prepared herself for school and went downstairs.

“Ma, did Hannah arrive already? She said we’re going to school together today.”

Hellen’s mother placed the pancakes on Hellen’s plate and looked at Hellen blankly.

“Who..? Hannah? Who’s Hannah?”

Her mother continued doing her task.

“Hannah... my childhood friend... my bestfriend...?”

“My dear, I haven’t heard anything about that ‘Hannah’. I only remembered you’re playing with your cousins back in the past. Are you sure you’re okay?”

Hellen approached her mother.

“Ma, don’t you remember Hannah? The girl I’ve been with since elementary school. It’s the girl who always visits us every weekend.”

“No. I don’t remember any of those things.”

“Ma, we have a picture of her with me in the living room. You got it from us and you placed it in a frame.”
